Transfer Case will be ATF+4 i belive. They are all the same they have to meet the same standards. Some fluids are better than others becasue they put this or that in them. That is what makes them more or less expensive. You can look at this on the back of oil bottle. They will all meet the SM standards (If it has not changed) but some will add addittives and other things.

If I am mistaken feel free to put me in time out, but the early KJ's actually had basic power steering fluid. It wasn't until later that the KJ's started using ATF+4 in the rack and pump.

Well, I'm thinking I might not have enough money to do an entire fluid change, so I need to make a priority list of which fluids are most important.

Here is what I'm looking to change can you guys prioritize it for me?

Motor Oil
Engine Coolant
Trans Fluid
T-Case Fluid
Differential Oil
Power Steering Fluid
Brake Fluid

okay... make sure that I have this correct...
Transfer Case - 2Q of atf+4
Front Diff - 2Q of SAE 75W-140 mobil 1, as per my owners manual.
Rear Diff - #Q of SAE 75W-140 mobil 1 and #Q friction modifier (for the tracloc) it says 75W-90 for non towing, so which is best? Also, is RTV needed here... how much/ what kind?
Transmission - #Q atf+4 from my research I believe it to be 8 Q. What is the filter I am supposed to use? Also, is RTV needed here... how much/ what kind or should I use a gasket?

and if someone could fill in those #

For the transmission I'd go to the dealer and let them do a proper flush/change filter/fill the ****** back up with fresh ATF+4. If you only drop the pan, your only getting a 1/3 of the fluid out.

Front diff : 1.31 QUARTS of 75W140
Rear diff : 2.19 QUARTS of 75W140 + friction modifier if the rear axle has a green TracLoc label on it.
Selec-Trac : 1.70 QUARTS of ATF+4
or
Command-Trac : 1.50 QUARTS of ATF+4

As for the RTV for the rear diff, get Permatex's Gear Oil RTV Sealant

i just saw that it is limited slip... does that mean I need to get something different for the front? because it does not require limited slip fluid.
