on an '05-up Liberty Equipped with a Power Driver Seat.

Got some '05 Power/Heated Leather Seats for my '05 CRD off Ebay. The Leather Seat install How-To was a great help, but since I already had a Power Driver Seat, I found an easy way to wire up the Passenger seat which requires about 3 feet of Dual strand, 12 to 18 gage wire, two (2) butt connectors and two 2 Tap splices.

First, take out Both Seats and loosen the console.

Here is the Driver's Seat 4 wire connector of a Power Driver Seat equipped vehicle:

Carefully trim away the tape near where the wires come out of the carpeting:

Separate the Brown/orange and Blue/Pink wires from the bundle:

Cut off about 3 feet of 2 conductor wire (red will be Positive and Red/Black will be negative):

Put a piece of Electrical tape on the red Wire (It will be 12 volts + hot in the next step)

Tap Splice the Pink/Blue wire to Solid color wire of the two conductor pair:

Tap Splice the BrownishBlack/Redish Orange wire to striped wire of the two conductor pair:

Run the new wire to the other side of the vehicle, under the carper and through the console.

New seat Pig Tail - Robbing Wires:

Now take the Pig tail off your new seat (if you got the seats out of junkyard, they usually chop the wires, not normally a good thing, but in this case, it is) (slide the red lock clip over to one side (see the picture below) and pull the connectors apart) and then take it apart:

Use a small screwdriver to...

Push off the blue forward retaining clip:

Then gently pop off the rear retainer clip:

And pull out the neoprene plug:

To remove the two wires we need from the Plug (Blue/Pink, RedOrangish/ BrownBlack), use a small flat screwdriver pushed into the area just below the wire (in this picture, from the front)

With the two wires removed from our spare block, we need to install them into the block in the Jeep:

Adding the new two wires to the old plug:

Thanks for this write up, I just put 2002 power seat tracks in our 2004 and this was invaluable. Your idea to supply power to the other side worked like a charm. :happy107:
