Custom HID Projector Retrofits...

Finished up on my custom HID projector retrofits I was working on.

New Headlights : $62.00 Set (autolightsbulbs.com)
HID Projectors : $120.00 - Mini H1 6.0 Bi-Xenon (theretrofitsource.com)
Projector Shrouds : $40.00 Apollo 1.0 (theretrofitsource.com)
BiXenon 9007/9004 Relay Harness : $35.00 (theretrofitsource.com)
H1 HID Bulbs/Ballasts : $100 - picked them up at a Carlisle vendor last year.
ORACLE Halo Kit - White SMD : $159 - Optional (automotivelightstore.com)

New Headlights are not required, I just wanted new crystal clear lenses.
All parts are plug-n-play, no cutting of factory wires.

Total project can be done in an afternoon : 3-4 hours total

Looks good. How about some pics of the beam cutoff on high and low beam. I'm thinking of doing the same but black housings but no halo's.

Did you have to use the mini H1 or could you use a different bulb type?

The projectors I typically use are for Regular H1 bulbs, the Projector itself is listed as "Mini" due to it's size and ease of fitment in most headlight housings.

Are they really that blue looking?

I have been looking at the mini h1 6.0's for awhile, but I think I'm going to go ahead and get them coming. I plan on painting the reflector and shroud satin black. I'd like to do the same with the fogs but I dunno

Not really - the Camera Phone I think makes it look like that. The Headlights are 5000k, the Halos are 6000k and the Foglights are 6000k - even though the 6000k does have a very very slight Blue to it, it is a bright white on the road.

The retrofits on my Caliber are color matched Inferno Red - I like it. I almost color matched just the Shroud for the Jeep, but then decided to just keep it Chrome.

I live in the sticks, so the difference between good lights and crappy ones is a deer on your hood. I did some research and put some 4x6 projectors from hidprojectors.com in my bronco ii. I spent a few grand on the 5.0 swap and sas, so $500 for lights didn't seem too bad. That was some of the best money I've ever spent on a mod. It does make the rig look better and has the cool factor as a bonus. A quality retrofit is one of those things that you don't notice how much of an improvement they are until you do it.

I always see guys say they can't see wasting $500 for some headlights. The same guys that spend $500 on a pos lift, another $800 on the one they should've gotten in the first place , then $1500 to replace everything that the first one fawked up.

Preach it !! I could not agree more - I have HID Projectors in all my vehicles and never blink an eye at what it costs me to build the lights. The set in my Caliber SRT4 cost me close to $700 to build and I feel it was money well spent.

Now do you have usage of your hi beams since you used an H1 bulb?

Yes the projectors are Bi-Xenon, basically the shield is actuated out of the way when you hit the hi-beam, using the Bi-Xenon harness I listed in the price breakdown handles everything for you, pretty much just plug&play.
