2002 fuel tank flange

That’s a bummer. I am not sure this part comes without a whole new fuel pump attached. But with an 02, your Liberty may need one soon anyway. Replacing the whole unit could save you the hassle of being stranded down the road.

2002-2004 KJs all have that same white cover plate. Do you have local salvage yards? If yes, and the wrecks are off the ground so you can get under them, a pair of side cutters will release the holding straps to drop the tank and enable you to remove the plate. With cut straps and the tank on the ground, it’s a 10 minute job to carefully pop the plate loose.

Dealing with the exact same issue with my 2002. Part was stand-only until 2005 when it became part of the fuel pump. Current part is discontinued and no one is currently making aftermarket. I went ahead and used JB Weld and it is no longer leaking. Will continue to hunt for a new one
