Hi new to the forum and from New Zealand, i am having trouble trying to get an intermediate shaft. have replaced both cv axles but still seem
to have excessive play with the right hand side inner cv. if anyone can post up a link or 2 to where i can buy one it would be appreciated.
normally order parts from rock auto but can't find one there

Did you actually pull the intermediate shaft out?
Could be like mine - there is a lot of play (or slop) and the seal leaks fluid. The bearing in the housing had frozen and worn a groove down into the shaft. Even replacing the seal and bearing will leave the shaft with a lot of play. I need a new shaft as well, but since these are beater jeeps for my sons around town, it is not a major priority. The 06 I am working on has rotted out rocker panels on both sides and I paid about 500 dollars to steal it away from the past owner who had tired of throwing money at it.
Eventually, I will figure out how effect a repair of this, but for now, away she growls!
If you do have a worn shaft at the bearing surface, my idea was to have a machinist fit a sleeve on there and turn it to the proper specs then a new bearing and seal.
