Please add some oil-based anti-corrosion liquid there through the lamp hole. Eg. http://www.rust-stop.ca It should leak down between the welding spots and neutralize the corrosion inside. 5 speed issues.
That's an annoying problem. Look's like there's no cheap solution. The clutch release hydraulic system is sealed and is serviced as assembly (way big leap for humanity). You could suffer from the worn synchronizer itself, but also it could be just an imperfect 2nd gear synchro combined with a...- greg_kj

Strange A/C problem...any help?
In my case it was a faulty low-pressure sensor, also as an increased air gap in the worn compressor clutch. This two problems appeared at the same time resulted in totally inpredictable a/c behaviour :) The great guide to a/c compressor clutches is at Sparky's...- greg_kj

Any 2.4 petrol manual drivers out there?
I've got a 2.4L manual and I've got the same rattle too. Have made 80k miles with it. It's definitely a transmission related sound, cause it comes and goes when I play the clutch pedal. Maybe the clutch release bearing. Maybe some loose parts in the clutch itself. The previous owner had...- greg_kj
