2003 KJ 2.5 CRD Diesel (UK) Intermittent Fault?

They can read stored codes, however if it is the crank sensor there may not be any. Testing it is tricky because you seem to have an intermittent fault. The other thing that is worth looking at is relay 39 in the engine bay box, this is the ASD - auto shutdown, if its dropping out for some...

2003 KJ 2.5 CRD Diesel (UK) Intermittent Fault?

Any fault codes logged? When you say 'won't start' is the starter spinning the engine but it's not firing? My first guess would be crank angle sensor or it's wiring if there are no fault codes.

    235/60 R16 for Jeep Liberty KJ 2005 4x4

You will loose a bit of ground clearance and rev more for the same speed, but if that doesn't bother you I don't see why it would be a problem, might look a bit silly with small tires though?

What did you do to your jeep today?

I'd go grade 10 as they are holding the brakes on. No idea what changed maybe something to do with the ABS system on the later Jeeps??

    Failed block test

Keep plenty of coolant in the car to top it up and try to avoid it boiling up, the 3.6 is known to drop valve seats if it gets too hot.

CRD engine failure: Replacement or Part-out

Given the cost I would measure the surviving pistons and liners for wear and go from there, if they have been disturbed then replace the seals but it's hard to justify too much cost on an older car. Is your head totally wrecked or can it be welded up and machined? Worth asking around, stuff can...

    Failed block test

The head gasket has lots of different passages in it, depending where it blows it may not contaminate the oil. The other option is a cracked cylinder or liner allowing leakage to the water jacket. Sounds like a small leak at the moment, it won't get better I'm afraid.

CRD engine failure: Replacement or Part-out

I think your cheapest option is to rebuild the engine you already have, you may get lucky and find some second hand parts in the US but the import cost on a piston and liner shouldn't be too bad if you have to go down that route.

CRD engine failure: Replacement or Part-out

5K For a used engine is nuts! Were CRD Jeeps sold in Mexico by any chance? Might be a better source for cheaper bits. Edit- they were also used in some mini vans, might be another option.

Kk Rear window glass lift fits on Kj?

Black ones! Finest Ebay had!! I'll have a look and see if they have any marking on them, I see some of the sellers are quoting the force of the gas struts now all we need is the original spec.

2005 2.8crd engine coolant water leakage

Any strange smells in the car when you put the heating on first thing in the morning? Check everything for the crusty stains of a cooling system leak, especially the radiator and the bottom of the cam belt cover, the water pump is inside & driven by it. Don't put anything except HOAT antifreeze...

    A Driver's side Thunking Mystery

Jack it up and put it on a stand, spin the wheel and listen, also look at the tyre to see if it has any runout (i know you said they are new but the alloy may be damaged), then grab it at 12 and 6 o'clock and try to rock it back and forth, repeat with your hands at 3 and 9 o'clock, you should be...
