Bad muffler creating vibrations/pulsing?
It should do, depending on the cause. I'd pull the plugs out and see if any of them are wet for a start. Or if you have a laser thermometer, one of my favourite diagnostic tools, check the manifold temperature at each port, you can easily see if one cylinder isn't firing.- KJowner

That sounds more like it's missing on 1 cylinder to me, or a massive leak on the exhaust manifold, but as it's quite at the front I'm going for a miss.- KJowner

Crd 2,8 2004 Fuel filter
The bottom part unscrews for cleaning the filter also unscrews from the body, on the top of the body there is a big plastic knob, that is the primer pump, once it's all back together you unscrew the knob and remove the brass bleed plug, then pull the knob up gently and push it down until diesel...- KJowner

Crd 2,8 2004 Fuel filter
The later filter is the plastic body one you will have seen elsewhere, it's rubbish compared to the aluminium one you have, you appear to have a genuine filter on it, wonder when that was last changed??? This is the correct filter, don't put a cheap unknown one on, the high pressure fuel pump...- KJowner

It's a Racor element, the bottom plastic bit unscrews, the black bit in your hand is the filter, it will come off once the bottom is unscrewed.- KJowner

MPG
Just returned from a trip dragging my caravan, I dropped some injector cleaner in and cleaned the MAP sensor before we set off, only a light misting of oil on it. Got home, Zeroed the fuel computer and went for a 30 mile round trip to pick up 500kg of coal, so empty on the way there and heavy on...- KJowner

UK 2.8CRD Auto gearbox help
First job is to check the gearbox oil level, if its low don't drive it and don't put normal ATF in it, you will wreck it, it needs ATF +4, unusual here, but available from Smith & Allan, I use it in mine.- KJowner

Yet another Engine Swap
It will wreck the cats if it's burning oil, how long it will take is unknown. Have you checked to see if the oil is leaking underneath anywhere? You may be lucky (ish!) And have a small leak somewhere, but the bad smell isn't encouraging.- KJowner

If you want to go fast you bought the wrong car! My old CRD will keep up with traffic but it's no flying machine, drags a trailer well thought. If you want faster acceleration and more pulling power put a set of 4.10 diffs in, you'll loose a bit of top end speed but i tend to chicken out above...- KJowner

Quality Parts
Moog is probably the best ball joint. Axles, depends what parts you need. Seals, loads of quality suppliers. With all avoid cheap unknown Chinese junk, it may be a nice price but changing the same parts every year soon gets annoying!- KJowner

Ok I feel some what ignorant asking this
That may just be an ABS sensor, the traction control is just the ECU applying brake to the spinning wheel, it gets unhappy if it can't see all 4 sensors. Sadly the autobox sounds sick.- KJowner

Check Engine light due to a bad Cat 06 Kj
I assume it's a V6? If you have the ECU setup to expect a cat and all the lambda probes then it's not going to be happy if they are not fitted and working, I doubt it will be running properly because it will be unable to trim the fuel without feedback from the O2 sensors.
