@yellocoyote .. next time the bugs are caked on, try a fabric softener sheet after a quick rinse. It’s incredible how easily the bugs come off! It’s so good I can’t believe they don’t market that as a use for them.

I would disconnect your battery … while you clean the terminals and clamps, if you can see corrosion, it may be inside the clamped connection as well. Let it sit for a bit before reconnecting. Bad connections can cause all kinds of crazy “Gremlins”. Fingers crossed!

Referencing the Tacoma for example .. the trans fluid has to be at a specific temperature when accessing the standpipe to check the fluid level. You can do it yourself but a digital thermometer and patience are required.
