duderz7,
I'm retired, so definitely not a big house at all, haha. The keys to the Liberty have been in the house on the key rack. I have been starting and driving the Liberty every day around the yard with no problems. Kids and wife came a long a few times for the drive too.
Billwill,
You are correct regarding the video, I clearly state that I did not bypass the SKIM and do need the key to turn it on and drive it. However since then I have discovered that I do not need the key to start or drive the Jeep. It has been inside the house for the last few days and I have...
Took the fender flares off, to restore them to factory color and make them all the same non sun faded color.
Rear door fender flares and bumpers will be next!
tommudd,
I missed you bumping my thread last couple weeks, welcome back!
This KJ newbie spent less on his KJ than a seasoned pro on a pair of driving lights, let that one sink in for a few moments!
Don't even get me started on running 10!!! lights on a KJ and only using them 4 times, sounds...
Been running low profile cheapest eBay LED bulbs in all my vehicles for years and when properly adjusted inside the headlight housing as well as properly aimed they blow everything out of the water brightness and durability wise per $$$dollar spent. Most nights I don't even have to use the...
Big Al,
Dude, it's a perfect Side by Side. I couldn't afford a RZR so I got a Liberty and turned it into a pickup, one of the most fun and practical yard rigs I have ever owned. Lets see a pic of yours.
Cheers!
LibertyTC,
I was about to ask the gurus what blueish smoke indicated? I have done a whopping 9.7 miles on my Liberty in the last two months and it blows blue smoke non stop. Oh yeah that 9.7 miles was over 60 hours of engine running time.
Oil level has not moved and I have not gotten around to...
Ignition switch actuator pin problem solved forever!
And SKIM somehow bypassed????
BTW, that's a custom made screwdriver that precisely fits into the ignition switch module to start the truck.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more shenanigans!
I had a video of the pickup be creation, here are the pictures.
Back is gutted and top of the truck is chopped off. I am ready for a pick up bed.
Found this Sierra bed liner at the dump, it was free so I will make it work!
Sides are cut off. This will be the middle section. I still...
sleazy rider,
Did some more trouble shooting:
Battery voltage 12.89
Starter relay fuse 15amp is good
Starter relay is good, swapped it with wiper on/off relay
Starter and solenoid are good, bypassed starter relay with a jumper cable
SKIM module is good, no key light on dash
Ignition switch is...
sleazy rider,
I drove it around the yard with the kids yesterday, rammed it through a few 4-5ft high snow piles. Parked it in the garage where it was around 34F all night and warmed up to 40F by the time I tried starting it.
Pretty much all the snow that I picked up yesterday melted off the...
So I got in my Liberty this morning and it will not start.
I turn the key and all lights on instrument cluster light up as usual, radio turns on, and I can hear the fuel pump run. Turn the key to start and nothing. Well radio turns off but starter is not turning or clicking.
How would you go...
New England is finally living up to it's snowy reputation and it's really slowing down my progress.
Another 10" last night. Plowed the driveway and kids wanted to go joyriding in the Jeep, did a couple laps around the yard and blasted (at a whopping 2mph) through a 5ft high snowbank...
Expecting 8-12" of snow today. Got about 10" overnight, snow took a break long enough to plow my driveway and get the Jeep out for some snow play with the kids!
18month old joined me to make the trek and shovel out the mailbox.
Found a 5foot snow bank of freshly pushed snow that was just...
sleazy rider,
Bolted up the bumper off the blue beastie on the pickup. I like it way better than the JK bumper, looks like I'll be keeping this one for a while.
Don't mind the mix matched body panels, I'm waiting on paint to arrive so I can spray it all a matching color.
RenKJ,
Previous owner put them on the Liberty because of the excessive rust and rot on the doors. Looks like they are held in with some silicone and couple sheet metal screws. I will be taking the front passenger one off the silver door and putting it onto the blue door that's on the pickup...
