What did you do to your jeep today?

I had some older Meguires #3 Carnuba wax that was left over, that I used today. I need to buy some updated wax and gold class, I would like to try. If it it doesn’t mark up the trim, that would be very helpful ! :)

What did you do to your jeep today?

Beauty fall day 73F, and I managed to get the KJ detailed substantially. Even applied a good Meguires wax today. That was a workout. ;) It's too bad that the Mother's Back To Black doesn't last that long. :(

    Transmission help 42RLE

Sorry to hear about your transmission woes. I also wonder what condition the valve body is in. With all the codes & particulate matter, IMHO it may be time to consider a complete re-build. Jasper transmissions comes to mind. Another option would be to find another lower mile 2005 42RLE from a...

    2006 KJ wiring harness replacement

Darn Rodents..eek. Can you post a few photos, so we can see what situation you are facing? I use gain dryer sheets, with mothballs & Irish spring bar soap under the master cylinder /under the hood as protection. New Here, New to Jeeps, New to the 04 KJ I bought last weekend.

Believe it or not, I still have the outstanding lower control arms listed in recalls. I decided years ago to keep the OEM lower control arms, and have a shop press in new Spicer bushings. The new bushings got filled in the cut away slots, with windshield urethane, and allowed to cure properly...

New Here, New to Jeeps, New to the 04 KJ I bought last weekend.

Ya good stuff, When the lca's bushings go bad it's scary. Step on gas at hwy speed, and it can jump left or right. New control arms are a good thing.

New Here, New to Jeeps, New to the 04 KJ I bought last weekend.

Depending on location type in your VIN number below: https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/recalls/search.html The Lower control arms & hitch if never completed, will be covered by dealer. As long as parts are available. In case of a hitch already installed, they have to pass it as inspected.

Been A Year - Let's Get This Going Again!

In January 2023, it was an unusual amount of snow that fell on the west Coast. One storm overnight, we got a foot, and it kept snowing! I was hoping for Global warming!... It took a few hours to dig the Jeep out~!

Was sunny & warm most of the summer, with little to no rain. Well that is about to change, as many continuous days of rainfall is expected now on the West Coast. When winter arrives, I wonder if it may be a repeat of last winter !! :)

    leaking transmission pan

Ok well, the cheaper option is to hope that a new kj 42RLE stamped steel transmission pan may still be available. Then use a LubeLocker gasket. and torque it to spec.
