Hmm I’ll have to try and find the paper receipt if I still have it in a folder. Didn’t have a chance to look this weekend as was actually down at VIR watching some sportier vehicles lol. Nothing in my email. In meantime I messaged the dealership asking for my small purchase history - we’ll see...
It was absolutely different per the pics at the time. So I went to the dealer w a hope and a prayer and they had both the same RA one that didn’t match my car, as well as (thankfully) the one that I needed. Believe I paid $260 or so for it back then. Does yours have a fan clutch? Idk if that was...
OP your first photo looks like that is your auxiliary transmission oil cooler. I believe the towing package also came with a heavier duty fan clutch. My 2004 has all this. FYI - RockAuto use to sell the Mopar trans oil cooler but for me, it was NOT the same one as that actually on my car. Check...
Assuming you’re talking about a potential exhaust manifold leaks and not EVAP system… when car is cold, start it up and have someone hold a cloth over the tailpipe exit. Then you get underneath / under the hood / up front and see if you hear a hissing type noise. It’s a way to ID a manifold leak...
Do your research online regarding the part # for the trans oil cooler. The one, at the time in ‘17, sold on RockAuto didn’t fit my 2004 with 42RLE. I had to buy it from the dealer (car had the factory option towing package) for about $235. The new cooler lines, also a dealer-only part, ran me...
Dangggg oh no sorry to hear :/
Well if you don’t get yours specifically rebuilt, you could go Jasper or Street Smart. For me a few years back they were about the same price and idr why I went with Street Smart.
Their customer service was super good - the initial trans I got had a weird 2-1...
@TheRob Do you have a CEL and codes? List them here it may assist ppl helping.
You said it works when you restart the car - does it work when you hit the OD button? Manually shift down to 1-2-D? Perhaps your solenoid is going bad. On the 42RLE (I have a 2004) thats tucked above or next too...
I’m real positive it does not (at least on my 2004). I had slippage after putting in a reman transmission myself and I distinctly remember replacing both sensors in my apartment parking lot without a jack or ramps at the time.
My issue there turned out to be the valve body but the reman...
Oh wow 12 years and still going, that says it all. Good to know, appreciate the info!
I’ll look up that fixed gasket too, had not heard of it. I just did a fluid+filter change last month and the RTV stuff is always messy. That’s much preferable.
@LibertyTC sorry old thread but I saw you had the photo here of the PML transmission pan. Is it worth the cost? Any issues with the drain plug?
I’m really considering one for my ‘04 (42RLE as well) just haven’t bit the bullet on the ~$300 or so.
^ the 2 sensors Leeann is referring to are the input and output speed sensors. I’d agree with replacing both of those at same time you change transmission fluid and filter. Use Mopar stuff for all of it just for peace of mind (sensors, fluid, filter). At that point you’d be about $150-200 into...
Funny, this literally happened to me on the passenger side tail light just last week. Haven’t gotten around to unhooking and see what’s going on however. Let me know what you find as the culprit!
Honestly I bought the more expensive Delphi one off RockAuto and it crapped out on me after 3 weeks. I was surprised since usually more expensive parts are better in my experience. So now I’ve run a cheap CarQuest one in there haha. That’s been since spring 2019 - knock on wood!
Just know that...
Finally got around to putting on the exhaust ti p of the Gibson stainless exhaust system (GIB-617205) I installed 4 years ago now lol. The tail pipe stuck out a ridiculous amount once you had the tip on. So required cutting at the end by about 2-9/16”, to get it to my liking at least. I could’ve...
@NaturalPath Curious to follow and see what you find… I only ever seem to find lift kit things online too.
As for original ride height, there is a Monroe quick strut assembly on RockAuto (#171577) for $190/pair. I’ve priced out a “build your own” version (would require self or shop assembly)...
It may seem silly but my rusted spare was an eye sore lol. Bit the bullet on fhe $65 Mopar spare tire cover last week. Fits well, seems high quality, and cleans up the back immensely. Part # 82207586AC. My spare is a 235/70R-16. Never got around to sandblasting and painting it like the other 6...
If you come to determine something is up with the transmission or still have the trans codes, cheap things to try would be: fluid + filter change (drop the pan), as well as replacing both the input and output sensors on the trans (they’re located on the drivers side of the transmission if I...
I 2nd what @adamkrz is saying. I’ve posted on here before about an (still ongoing lol) EVAP leak on my ‘04. It’s a 2 piece assembly (in-tank like every other vehicle I’ve seen + a top part assembly that sits at top of the tank) and the top part isn’t made anywhere - not Mopar nor aftermarket...
