What did you do to your jeep today?

Absolutely! When did you last see something with multi-LED 3rd brake lights , much over a year old with them all working? It was such a problem with Cadillac Sevilles (huge almost the full width of the trunk lid) that a company sprung up providing reconditioned ones on an exchange basis -...

Full Time light after transfer case swap.

None of my XJ's had both, if either, lights working (at least, all the time), so I didn't expect the KJ's to: faults transcending model changes seems to be a Jeep thing!

My first KJ, anything I need to be aware of?

You're probably not going to get HOAT in Halfords, but it's readily available on-line. Chances are previous owner couldn't find it either so unless you are absolutely certain that's what's in the cooling system, drain it, keep flushing it until it runs clear, then a couple more times for good...

    Rear number plate/UK version

I'm thinking of replacing the rear plate with a square one, I've seen that done & just not having the plate overhanging the hinged flap is an improvement. Longer term, I'm toying with removing all the spare wheel hardware, except the actual mounting bracket, & making a bracket to locate a...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I stand corrected, did you get Boxing Day when we got New Year's Day? A garage would be nice, even without electricity.

2007 Liberty Vehicle Speed Sensor input

If only they realised that increasingly hysterical parking sensors were far more of a distraction when maneuvering in a very tight space.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Unloaded the autobox, liftgate, front panel + headlight bezels, a light switch - & an ashtray, for 3 XJ's that I'd driven 550 miles on Christmas Eve for. In fairness the KJ acquitted itself very well, apart from the disappointing mpg but now makes a seriously disconcerting noise, & shows a...

Anyone played with the "New" Falken RubiTrek A/T tires?

Thanks, that's me pretty well decided on Wildpeaks when the KJ needs another pair of tyres (Rubitreks don't appear to be available here). Oh, & if anyone's detected a slightly more positive attitude to my KJ that's mainly because finally getting it through inspection - & so being able to drive...

Front hub with ABS on non-ABS Libby

I didn't know there were non-ABS hubs, because by the time the KJ came out, ABS was mandatory - but obviously not everywhere! I imagine the only difference in the hubs is the hole for the sensor, so I'm curious as to whether the non-ABS hubs don't have the hole, or it's plugged. Those sensors...

    H&R Spring Review

I think you'll find that Tom's not frequenting the forum at the moment - & probably won't be for the foreseeable future. We'll just have to manage as best we can, 'cos the man needs his time & space.

Anyone played with the "New" Falken RubiTrek A/T tires?

You make a good point about what might be good on one vehicle may not be so good on another. Hmmm, perhaps getting Open Countries for my XJ wasn't so smart. Rubitreks are light truck tyres (hence the reviews you've found) so might not be the best bet for a Rubicon. Having done a bit of digging...

    TRI LINK

If it only takes an hour, how can it cost $450? I reckon it probably took me 2 or 3 days (spread over, I think, 4 weekends) - but the replacement part was only about £80., so not a lot more than 2 bushes. The bolts were no problem at all, too high up in a sheltered spot to suffer from rust it...

    three warning lights

Yup, if only to tell you which ABS sensor to change - as that's all it probably is.

What did you do to your jeep today?

20-odd years ago I had a door window smashed & a radar detector taken when parked outside the house (in London) & about 5 years ago I lost my GPS from the glove box or centre cubby when parked up for the night in 'Vegas (my fault, left the rear hatch unlocked on my rental p-o-s - in the 2 weeks...

What did you do to your jeep today?

So today it was dry enough to tackle the outstanding rear brake jobs - but it's the Sunday before Christmas, so there were those things that only have to be done at this time of year, like trying to find where I'd put my son's present so I could wrap it, should have been sent yesterday at the...

Turn off tpms / mil lights - has anyone been successfull?

It seems to be a common problem, in fact I'm sure there was quite a lengthy thread here quite recently. Hopefully, the OP on that will chime in.

    Rear hatchback, tire damaged

You don't say what other damage, but if that's just cosmetic, sounds like you just need a complete rear door. Essentially, that's just a nut & bolt job.

    Fog Lights 2007 Liberty Sport

I've always been amazed at, & impressed by, how easy it seems to be to get parts for older models from any American autoparts store.

    Interior lights

If they don't come on with the courtesy switches, I doubt it's the stalk (that's "lever" for the benefit of our American readers). This has been a recurring post on XJ forum for as long as I know - & I'm sure it comes down to Jeep making the switching too complicated by half, rather than an...
