235/70R16 section width big enough to protect rims?

Well, I wanted to update here after putting a ton of time on these tires... and before they come off and I forget. All in all, I got the best wear out of these that I have ever gotten out of anything on the liberty. Everything else I have had wore down perfectly smooth, but just did not last...

    Which ball joint tool

Yeah you gotta get the largest most expensive kit. I also had to reverse it and when pressing in make sure the threads would not hit... and I had to loosen the clamp and spin the top cup. It doesn't press in straight and there was a slight bevel to that cup to keep correcting it to get it moving...

    Tail Light Preferences and Experiences

I wanted to add another post to this even though it would probably be better somewhere else. But at least there will be some record of it that others might find. I ran into another lighting issue the other day and thought my bulbs had finally given up the ghost again. My top brake light was out...

    Suspension, cut corners but happy

Yeah, the Liberty is a working utility vehicle for me. I need to haul stuff and keep it protected a little better than a truck bed with a cap. And I need to be able to get in and out of some bad places on a regular basis. But I get in and out of it so many times in the course of a day that I...

    Suspension, cut corners but happy

House brand from Car Parts Wholesale. They are pretty much like the Monroe Quickstruts. Has everything already together. You just transfer over the lower mounts. Going into it I wanted to figure out something really good to install to make an epic change in ride comfort. But I really...

    Suspension, cut corners but happy

I wanted to take a sec to share my rare occurance of cutting some corners and actually ending up happy with the results. My ride was sad. I had to redo all the arms and ball joints and all that crap. My suspension was also very sad shot dead. I had the old saggy front springs situation...

    sudden transmission issue

Turn off the ESP IA the steering column button and see if it persists to do the same thing. Mine did something similar in the past. Long story short it turned out to be the battery shorting out. The battery had a cell going bad shorting I guess. I would have never in a million years guessed...

    Tail Light Preferences and Experiences

Gah, wish I would have seen this sooner. I could have saved you a LOT of coin. But I can still save you some headache. See, I too used to be plagued with the bulb burnout and I see it all the time on the road on other liberty rides as well. I thought I posted the solution I found on here, but...

    Which ball joint tool

My buddy had a weird hammer. Not sure what it was made of but seemed like aluminum or something outside with a loaded core maybe. I don't know, but he tapped them out with little effort . This hammer whatever it was could be used to separate good parts as it caused no damage to the threaded...

    Which ball joint tool

Thanks guys. Im replacing everything. I was referencing pressing the lower ball joints out due to them being a press down through the spindle layout instead of in the lower arm. The kit my buddy got from Autozone I want to say was the brand OEM? Was not a pretty story. I will see how...

    Which ball joint tool

Time to freshen up. I need ball joints and a host of things as it all seems to be going south together. My friend just did his and said it was murder on the pressing. He rented the kit at Auto zone and said that was the issue. It wasn't quite right for the job. After taking all that in I...

    General Grabber AT2 questions

I bought the Grabber AT tires and I'm very satisfied so far. The only thing I'd change if I could go back is I would have gotten the 245/70-16 size instead because they are a bit on the narrow side in 235/70-16.

    07 Sport Radiator (CarQuest?)

Uggg.... sounds worse than the Ranger heater core situation I went through after the OEM one started leaking. I would have to put replace in the spring after I stopped using heat, and in the fall when I started using heat. Finally found a good one at NAPA not made in China. No problems since...

    07 Sport Radiator (CarQuest?)

It just keeps coming. Now the radiator is leaking somewhere. I already picked up a radiator from Advanced. It's a Car Quest one but I saw China on it.... So I was like I dunno, might should have had someone take me to the Jeep dealer. But bet they wouldn't have one on hand anyways. So I...

Hub bearing assembly stuck on CV axle

The puller actually had taper holes for the lugs. It was just the amount of force required. It pulled them in and cut a grove. I might could have used them backwards with washers and destroyed those. But it was too late already when I saw. The right side worked fine with the puller just...

Hub bearing assembly stuck on CV axle

Hah! I needed the puller and started to be certain even the puller was going to strip. So I ended up backing it off, turning the center bolt farther in, and then proceeded two rounds of tightening the lug nuts on the puller, backing out, turning bolt in, doing it again. Ruined my lug nuts but...

Hub bearing assembly stuck on CV axle

Yeah I think I am going to have to borrow a puller. This makes me so mad. I see all these super rusty rides just come right apart in there. Makes me feel like they just put mine together dry.

Hub bearing assembly stuck on CV axle

Guys, I'm in NC. There is some salt put out on the roads here in the western mountain sections. But the results are never anything near what I see with northern vehicles. But this thing, everything has been seized together still. Rotor stuck to hub (off now). Hub stuck to spindle (off now)...

    Noise wasn't my tires???

I am going to go out on a limb and say it would have likely been the same outcome. I've never had anything but Mopar have the front end start going south a bit over 100k especially not on a daily driver. This has been a good vehicle so far, but I think I need to start researching what kind of...

    Noise wasn't my tires???

Sure enough... diagnosis not good. Both front wheel bearings are going. The guy eventually had to resort to a stethoscope to figure it out. Ugg.... Anyways, I'm seeing a lot of different pricing on these hub assemblies, some good pricing, some painful pricing and some oh my gah pricing...
