Coolant system question! (Blown upper radiator hose)

Yes sir! As long as it is regular for both hoses to be hot and pretty firm with pressure while hot, then I think I might be good to go... Thanks for all the help guys, sometimes I overthink stuff that is fine but I like to be sure I cover every little detail before I go driving far from home haha.

Coolant system question! (Blown upper radiator hose)

I actually just got back from running it around with my odbll reader! It did kick on at 219 degrees... So, I think my fan is good, temperature sensor is good, thermostat is brand new, hose is new, reservoir cap is new... This time I did not notice any steam coming from radiator, but I did notice...

Coolant system question! (Blown upper radiator hose)

Okay, so let's say the new thermostat I put in works great, and the water pump I replaced 5 years ago is good, and everything else is fine, and it is not overheating... Could a bad or clogged radiator be the cause? Is a clogged radiator basically the only way the radiator goes bad? I thought...

Coolant system question! (Blown upper radiator hose)

Thank you very much for all the info. I appreciate it. Do you know if the temperature could raise up to normal running temp, and then stay there, if the water pump wasn't flowing the coolant? Or is the coolant where the temperature sensor is, the first to get over heated?

Coolant system question! (Blown upper radiator hose)

Okay so, I replaced the thermostat too, and now the upper gets hot and lower stays cool, but neither have much pressure at all. It gets up to temp and stays there, but the fan never kicks on... I am confused as how the fan is not kicking on to cool down the coolant in the radiator when I am not...

    HOW TO: Flush/Change Coolant

Why would they do something like that when a new fan is only 100 bucks??? Just get the new fan assembly and it will have a warranty. It could be causing your radiator fluid to spew out the overflow too.

Coolant system question! (Blown upper radiator hose)

Was driving home from an hour away, and just as I got into my neighborhood (thank god) my upper radiator hose blew a few inch hole in it. I have a hard time believing that it could build enough pressure to blow a hole in it like that without anything else being the cause for catastrophic...

Seafoam spray directly into catalytic converter?

Anyone have experience or seen this online? To clean the carbon buildup out of the cat. I saw someone do this on youtube and the comments were flooded with people saying it worked and cleared their p0420 code and that they had a noticeable improvement in performance without replacing their cat...

P0420 code and 02 sensors question:

Just did the plugs, also replaced throttle position sensor, intake seems fine, I even blasted some seafoam in the intake and have been running lucas through my fuel system. The rpms do a slight drop at stoplights after idling for a moment. not every time but frequent enough.

P0420 code and 02 sensors question:

I would like to add that I have noticed an occasional drop in rpm at stop lights, not a lot but noticeable and intermittent. Also, when I am driving at normal steady speeds I can feel an occasional tug from the engine as if I went over a small crack in the road or something... Just barely...

P0420 code and 02 sensors question:

There is a guy on there that seems to be pretty intelligent when it comes to these jeeps that says that the 02 sensor has to be working in order for a p0420 code to show up.

P0420 code and 02 sensors question:

It is a 2003 3.7L with 135k miles. Thank you for your suggestions I will look into this!

P0420 code and 02 sensors question:

I know there is a guy on here that will try to refute this, and I would love his input as well. What I want to know is if there is anyone on here that has, for certain, had a P0420 code on a jeep liberty, (bank 1 to be specific) and replaced an 02 sensor, and have it fixed the problem and clear...

    Large Evap leak

Does it sound like it is hissing, or letting air out? That's what happened to mine, and i found a leak where the tube runs from the Purge solenoid you showed in your video, to the back of the engine against the firewall... where it plugs into a short rubber tube connector the rubber was split...

    Catalytic is coding

I've seen you post this on a couple threads about P0420 code... I am wondering if you can explain your knowledge of this? If you search the internet, there are hundreds of trustworthy mechanic pages that all say a faulty rear 02 sensor could cause a P0420 code to be stored. So can you explain...

Replacing shift solenoid on 03 Jeep Liberty 3.7

Has anyone performed this? I am reading through the service manual but I would like to talk to someone who has done this before. I am a pretty able person and have been able to fix a lot of things on my jeep from learning online and watching videos. My jeep was parked for half a year, and when...
