    Strange AC behaviour

Thanks for letting us know what the problem seems to be and here's hoping it stays fixed!

    Rear speed sensor

Bring your vehicle to a few different auto parts stores and have them scan for codes. There may be wheel sensor code that will point you in the right direction.

    braking only at 4low

Faulty pump maybe? Try bringing it to an auto store that reads codes and has a good scan tool. There may be ABS codes present. Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but I've heard many 4WD systems disable the ABS system when a vehicle is in 4 low (not sure about the libby), so it's interesting...

P0171 "NOT Drivable" - no power/bad smell of gas

Thanks for updating on the situation and sorry to hear about the problem it caused. Excessive fuel in the cylinder can also cause fuel 'wash,' which can cause not only damage the rings and piston, but the cylinder wall as well. You may want to inspect the bore 1st before proceeding with the...

Okay. I'll make a point to check the wires on my kj this week and let u know what I come up with.

04 KJ Trans and towing question

Semi's are a different animal mainly because the trailer hookup point is ahead of the rear axles. Makes a very big difference.

04 KJ Trans and towing question

That depends on if the trailer used has brakes. It's not uncommon to see vehicles that are rated to tow up to 1.5x their (unladen) weight when the attached trailer is equipped with brakes. It's always safer to keep the weight to the lowest amount possible and distribute it evenly. On the topic...

You want the ASD relay to be plugged in when you test at the coil's connector plug. The ASD is there to provide +12V (when conditions are met) to all 6 coils, so plug it in and see if power is making it to one of the pins there. I would imagine the ignition should be in "on" position as opposed...

    Live data p0172 p0175

I've never done the test on my Lib, but usually you're looking for a pulsing ground on one of those wires when the engine is running. That would be the control signal coming from the PCM commanding the coil to turn on/off. By the way, it would be a good idea to unplug the injector plug on the...

    Live data p0172 p0175

Just to backtrack a bit, if you're looking to basically just confirm that a given coil is receiving a signal from the PCM, you can do a very basic test for that by just using a low amp draw LED test light/logic probe. Unplug the electrical plug going to the coil, probe the appropriate pin on it...

Fnirsis are utter garbage. Chinese scopes don't (collectively) have a good rep to begin with, but Fnirsis and their numerous re-brands are at the very bottom of that pile. Their prices are attractive (especially the tablets they sell), but they are little more than toys and have a list of...

I use an Owon VDS1022I USB o'scope. Runs about $100. Download the software from github instead of the manufacturer, as it's improved (HScope apparently works with it, too, if you have an Android device). For something more portable, I've personally been eyeing the Zeeweii/SigPeak DSO2512G scope...

    High fuel consumption

    Live data p0172 p0175

Not sure if you're thinking this way, but it's unlikely the PCM/BCM is the source of your fuel trim problem. I'm also not sure why you're focused on this suspected amp draw to begin with. Is your battery going dead? Coil (primary and secondary) voltage can only be properly measured with a...

    Live data p0172 p0175

If you don't know already, once you key off, it's normal for there to be a draw on the battery until all the modules go to sleep. This could take up to a half hour. Replacing the BCM may require proper the programming in order for it to function with the other systems.

    Remote fob stopped working

Just a shot in the dark, but you may want to check all fuses in the vehicle and, if those check out, check for power and ground going to the BCM. Earlier Liberties apparently had the RKE (Remote Key Entry) module plugged onto the outside of the BCM whilst later KJs have it integrated into one...

Upstreams need to be NTK brand, in the NTK box in a sealed bag with NTK logos on it. Many sellers, especially on ebay, Amazon claim to be selling you NTKs but are substituting cheaper ones. Rear O2s usually only check for cat efficiency and have no other function, so I wouldn't be concerned...

Help - how to diagnose a bad catalytic converter?

As you're learning, desertdriver, there's a steep learning curve to understanding what all the data means. If it's any consolation, I was in the same boat only a few short years ago. If you have time, there are some good youtube videos from "GoTech," "Scanner Danner" and others you can check...

2002 Renegade moisture/fog on inside of front glass. 221K miles

Any sweet, syrupy smell in the cabin, especially when the heat is on? I know the old standby ethylene glycol gives off a smell like that, though not sure about the HOAT version Libs usually have in them.

P0171 "NOT Drivable" - no power/bad smell of gas

Your fuel trims are way out of wack on both banks. Each bank is independent from the other, so there won't be any attempt for one bank to "balance" or compensate for the other, though I can see what would make you think that given the numbers you got. I actually had very similar numbers to...
