The 3.7/4.7 was designed in the 90's, fuel mileage wasn't really a concern back then.
Other than when it was bone stock, mine has always gotten ~17-18mpg at its best... I dont believe it has ever gotten 11 but Ive never driven it purely in the city. Heck, it gets 15mpg towing a 3000 camper at...
Ive had mine since new and have had very few issues with it. It only has ~130k but Ive taken very good care of it.
The 3.7 and 42rle do not seem to take kindly to abuse or lack of maintenance. The 3.7 likes to drop valve seats and some believe overheating them can cause it while others say it...
What do you mean you want to keep the manual clutch as a last resort? Im not understanding that.
Once i added the HD cooling, my electric fan only kicks on when using the A/C or the trans is getting hot. It has never kicked on otherwise.
Also, keep in mind, the HD cooling also included a...
The A/C should still work even though its pulling in outside air. You'll certainly notice a decrease in performance, but it will still work.
I actually prefer outside air if other people are in the vehicle. I get a bit claustrophobic when Im in close quarters with other people.
Describe what sort of mountain pass you're going up. Its a well known fact that the 42rle is easy to overheat. If this mountain pass is slow speeds and you're not using 4low, its possible that its just overheating.
The stock aux cooler isn't enough for anything other than normal driving. The...
Flat towing with the trans in N risks destroying the transmission. Even through the tcase is in N, the tcase can still turn the output shaft on the trans and since the oil pump is not being turned in the trans, there is no oil flow within the trans.
That's one thing that always amazed me, my original rear wiper still works perfect. I rarely used it when I was DD'ing the kj though. I see some people driving on sunny days with their rear wiper on....
I removed the hitches from my Jeeps and had new recall hitches installed. At the time, they were also giving away $100 visa cards so I made some decent money. If you wanted, you could remove the rusty hitch and see if Jeep will install a new one.
The drawtite hitch that I put on my liberty in...
It plugs into the OBD2 port but it can trigger and read the sensors as a stand alone unit.
Honestly, I'm not sure if it clones or not. I need to play with it some more to figure out everything it can do.
Something else I just noticed, the new sensor is noticeably lighter... I'm interested to...
I imagine very few Liberty's still have a working TPMS, but I thought I would post this for those that many need it. Many years ago, I replaced the factory sensors with the 20028 Schrader TPMS sensors and all was well. Had no issues training them with the magnet and they lasted many years...
I've always used zerex G05. Its a pale yellow (color doesnt matter, FYI) and Ive never had any issues. Its readily available pretty much anywhere but I normally buy concentrate from Napa when its on sale.
I mix 50/50 with distilled water. I've never flushed a cooling system and never will, but...
My parents 2006 Jeep WK is the same. Thing has limited slip diff's front and rear but the TC will kick in and the Jeep slides back to the bottom of the hill. My KJ has no issues in a foot (most we've had) of snow on their driveway. I've not tried removing the abs fuse but pushing the esp off...
My 2004 only turns the A/C on in the two defrost modes. The 2005 will also turn the A/C on in the floor only mode. You can take part the controls and put tape over the contacts so it only turns the A/C on in the modes you chose to not put tape over. I bought some 2005 controls so I could control...
