    Intermittent Coolant Leak?

Always hard to find the intermittent stuff. Even though your water pump sounds new, still include that in your search for the leak source, whether bad gasket seal or poor quality control on the part. Could be while everything is sitting pressurized is when its able to be seen better, and shows...

So, what do you do when your travel vehicle dies?

Many should not be allowed to use power tools, or operate vehicles, lol.

    Tow hook hardware?

I pulled a set of hooks out of a wrecked kj at the local getting spot, they look exactly like yours and had the clips that had a threaded section on the lower half (edit: they're called j-nuts). I know it doesn't help find where they are, but it's a different mounting option if the dealer...

    Aloha from Iowa

Howdy! I never owned a cj (yet!) but had two tj's. I like the idea and look of the antenna in the back!

Walmart copied transponder key and programming 3rd key

Mine did come with two of the triangle like shape key with fob built in. In the past I believe I read how one could be just a copy of the other and not unique, although I don't know how to test that myself yet, I'll have to do some info digging. At worst I may have to find an independant auto...

Walmart copied transponder key and programming 3rd key

I valeted from 2003-2007 at a busy hotel that also rented cars, and I parked a lot of cars. Remembered looking at the chrysler keys, wondering if they had different colored keys for a reason! I didn't like them then, or now, I'm disappointed I have the triangle key. I don't know why, but I...

His post was from about 6.5 years ago and last login almost 6 years ago, good chance you won't be hearing from the original poster, unfortunatley.

So, what do you do when your travel vehicle dies?

Yeah, that can be frustrating for sure. In a world where about every business messes up, they've at least done well for making it right every time, many times for me.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Had some errands to take care of with the next day or two off, so I wanted to get some fuel system cleaner to throw in the tank. It was buy one get one free for techron, and rustoleum self etching primer was on clearance, things were off to a good start. Next stop was home depot, good sales on...

What did you do to your jeep today?

As said above me, standard procedure on the t-case. Glad eagle knew the sizes for you, I couldn't remember them. I always break loose the fill plug before the drain, in the event your hex breaks or the plug strips, you still have a t-case with fluid to go buy whatevers further needed to further...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Good to hear! My install went smooth, cleaned everything well, I rolled the windows up slowly with my hand assisting just in case of binding but they were okay. Up and down 3 times after that slowly to make sure no binding. Directions said wait 24 hours to roll down windows, but I'll wait 3...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I didn't see much steering, your first comment to me was their product is terrible. :) My "without any knowledge at all" point was I've used them with success the last couple decades on many vehicles both personally, with family, and a shop I worked for. They may not work well with the kj but...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I am about to find out with my kj :) I've had them on a chevy s-10 and 1500, ram 1500, nissan frontier and two of my mom's toyotas and other family members with great success. Like a stiff new leather, I do a break in. I heat up the window rubber before initial install, hand assist the window...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Looks great, nice and clean! I was going to ask about you getting those wiper arms off, but I see the good ol anti-sneeze on there ;). I took mine apart about a year and a half ago. One side I removed with a hammer, the other required a puller but was an excuse to buy a cheap set of the 3 arm...

    2004 Jeep Liberty “Jessie”

I believe all front diff housings are the same throughout the years from all the reading I've done. I have a 07 and got a front end from a 05 and they are identical minus the drain plug. Abs is through the wheel bearings/hubs up front, so that won't be any issue. For the rear on a 07 which is...

    2004 Jeep Liberty “Jessie”

I'd say it's most ideal to plan it out and do them both at the same time. I would pull the front propeller shaft/driveshaft out if you end up regearing only the rear first. Eliminates the human element, and if in a dilly of a pickle you have a low gear to choose.

    2004 Jeep Liberty “Jessie”

If it's the whole axle housing/assembly with internals it's quite plug and play. Harder to find the units with 4.10s in them, than to swap them lol Front whole assembly will be the same. I believe rears changed 06/07, they changed how the wheel speed senors picked up at the axles as opposed to...

    2004 Jeep Liberty “Jessie”

Yeah, you'll have to match the gear ratios otherwise its a grenade in 4wd You can get away with say a 4.10/4.11 combo if those were the gears available

    Diff and axle hunting

The aluminum housings are the same, but they do make separate diff carriers to hold different gears, at least for open carriers (maybe others too?). There's a diff carrier for 3.55 and higher gears (lower numbers) and a diff carrier for the 3.73 and lower gears (higher numbers)

    Diff and axle hunting

I would say you are correct, I've had the broken one pulled out since I found out about it, and the two sitting next to each other look identical minus the drain plug so far. Other than take the one out and buy the other I haven't done much with them, so I figured I'd check if there was any...
