    Transmission issues

UPDATE... after about a month, it seems to have solved itself. There’s. I more whine at all. I’m going to take it to a shop after payday and have it fully flushed. I’m betting there was a fluid passage blocked up somewhere that’s gotten freed up again.

Fluid levels show properly on the dipstick. I may drive it for the weekend to see if it improves. It’s going to get a full flush either way, but I want to see if something else is up before I take it to have that service performed.

    Transmission issues

I just changed fluid, not a full flush, but a change. The fluid looked really dirty but nothing alarming otherwise. Upon driving the shifts are much smoother but there’s a decent amount of whine as I drive now

    Transmission issues

I got off work early today so I'm planning to do a fluid and filter change with the seafoam transmission additive this afternoon. How likely is it to be just dirty fluid and not something more serious? I'm about a block away from a decent transmission shop so getting work done isn't a huge...

It's at 102,000 and it's the v6 gas engine. I haven't serviced it. It was an item I was getting ready to have done with the next oil change.

    Transmission issues

My Liberty is a 2004 model 4wd. I'm not sure which transmission mine has but last week it started throwing transmission codes. It started with P1776 and a P0700 last week and it locked itself in second gear. I cleared those codes (to see what happened) and they stayed gone for a week and...

    Poor Gas Mileage

Thanks tommudd, those were the kind of numbers I was expecting to see. What interval do you expect for PCV replacement? Also would I stand to benefit from ignition coils? I don't feel any dragging brakes, I don't have anything in the Jeep on a daily basis either. Again, I know I'm not going...

    Poor Gas Mileage

Driving habits are fairly moderate, not too aggressive but not crazy mild either. I've tried to baby it for a couple tanks to see if there was any difference, and its really made no difference in how much fuel is used. I don't think that there are any brake stick issues either. I also never get...

    Poor Gas Mileage

My Jeep is a 2004. All stock and at 98000 miles. It doesn't seem to loose speed coasting downhill, but in Kansas I haven't done much of that either. As for brand parts, I used Delphi O2 sensors, FRAM air filter, and NGK plugs.

    Poor Gas Mileage

Hello, I'm sure it's been covered, but in a quick search I can't find the answer I'm looking for. I've got a 3.7 Liberty with the auto trans and in about a year of owning, haven't gotten above 15mpg more than a couple times and those only on road trips. I've changed, spark plugs, air filter, O2...

Crunchy sound when accelerating from a stop

Noise has gotten worse and far more consistent and it a result of steering motions. I'm thinking those ball joints are likely the issue after all, replacing them tomorrow. I'm thinking that if that doesn't do it, maybe the tie rods?

Crunchy sound when accelerating from a stop

I just got around to checking everything out. I honestly can't find anything. I'm noticing a bit of a lip on the end of my brake rotors, and I've been getting a bit of a squeal. I'll probably start by doing pads and rotors to see what happens. Also, my lower ball joints have broken boots, but...

Crunchy sound when accelerating from a stop

I'll have o check that out when I get home tonight. Otherwise I'll probably spend a bit of the weekend messing with stuff under the Jeep.

Crunchy sound when accelerating from a stop

Definitely sounds like the front. It decided to get cold again, so it'll be a couple days before I look under it. The lower control arms are original, would Jeep still cover them under that recall?

Crunchy sound when accelerating from a stop

No I joints would make sense. I’m thinking possibly CV joints as well. Nothing notable shifting from reverse to forward or anything like that. It also didn’t do it in my way home tonight.

Crunchy sound when accelerating from a stop

Just today my Jeep started to make a weird crunchy popping sound under light acceleration. It only happens from a stop and only lasts for a couple seconds. I haven’t had a chance to look under it yet. It still seems to drive fine, but I’m hoping to get a couple ideas so I know what to look for...

New to the area and offloading in general

I'm actually looking at next weekend rather than this week now.

New to the area and offloading in general

I'm thinking about checking out Tuttle Creek this weekend. Is anyone planning to head out there this weekend or is there a decent map of the trail system? I've got a stock Jeep currently so I don't want to get into more than my Jeep or skill level can handle.

    Misfire and roughness help

Put the stock upstream sensors in and drove about 40-50 miles. Seems to be fixed. I guess Delphi o2 sensors don't agree with the Liberty.

    Misfire and roughness help

Darn, That was a mistake. Surprised I didn't catch that. I didn't get around to changing them back last night. I'll change the sensors back tomorrow evening and see if it's back to normal.
