It turned out to be the radiator fan motor!
Strangely, it didn't fail out-right, but was working intermittently. But when the clip reads 12V and the fan doesn't spin despite free blades, its pretty clear the motor is shot. $180 CAD and 5min swap out in the parking lot. Phew.
I didn't see the...
This is one of those easy-actually-harder ways ;) I've been there a bunch.
Obviously I haven't seen your car, but an acrylic laqour clear coat is likely your friend (gloss or matte). Sand with 2 stages minimum (maybe 400 to blend and 1000 to cover), do the whole hood, wet wipe between (or just...
ha yea an invented term I know. Just trying to make sense of the clearance between mount point and the fender. Trying to get it right with whats available. Thanks for the input.
I'm on 215/75r16 tires with the stock 16x7 rims. This is the stock tire size too according to the door badge.
I wouldn't particularly recommend for or against it. They feel light no doubt. Turning is super tight. Traction is low though. Can easily burnout in 2WD and dry road. And accidentally...
Thanks man. I had seen that before too. But at $245+tax ea I didn't consider it an option. Interestingly there appears to be no other options with 8" width and 5" backspace, steel or alloy.
I was hoping someone would say that the 4.5" backspacing isn't a deal breaker. The vehicle is going to be...
Thanks @tommudd !
But like I said, I've exhausted my 7" rim options. (Unless I wait out covid and drive to the US)
That leads me to try mounting the 245/75 to the 8" rim. At 4.5" backspace it is centred the same as a 7" rim with 4" backspace (0mm offset). And the tire width doesn't change so in...
Its the outward dimension that worries me, conflicting with the upper flare when articulating and the flare sides when turning. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this tire with this offset on a 2.5" lift? I'll pound the pinch weld over but after that, can I handle the fit with just...
Thanks for the thoughtful replies folks!
Reservoir cap is 16 psi indeed. Coolant is pink/red. Water pump appears to turn fine with the engine speed.
I don't have the full service history of the vehicle unfortunately. But its at 125 miles now so perhaps time to renew some minor components such...
Occasionally, after driving and turning the engine off, within 2-3 minutes the engine bay starts to smoke and crackle. Popping the hood, its clear that the coolant reservoir is dripping from below and the drops fall directly onto the hot exhaust pipe exiting the engine, thus...
I'm tackling this myself next week. For clarity; you are simply leveraging the shovel (upsidedown) against the tire to press the bumpstop upwards once the back half is seated..? thanks!
I've ordered my 948 springs but still tossing shock decisions...
Was thinking primarily about Bilstein 24-185660...
Although the N132L pair is only $100CAD more after all.
But the concept of coil-over rear shocks like the Monroe #58649 is totally new to me. They are less expensive than either...
I'm also curious about the OPs original question; lift and settling aside, can you feel the difference in spring rate on the road? IE does the 927 actually feel stiffer than the 926..? Cheers!
I just replaced mine with OEM, worked great and cheap on Amazon. No comment on longevity yet. I replaced the blower motor at same time in case tired motor winding caused the resistor failure in the first place. (but I believe these resistor packs can wear them selves out without help too)
Thanks for the link, but I think these are actually cheaper at PartsEngine.ca

Just heard from Dobinsons that their front HD spring (C29-022) is 405mm free height and 448 lbs/in spring rate.
Comparing that against ~310 stock and 400 of the highly regarded 927... 448 sounds like it might deliver an unpleasantly firm ride at low speed. Any thoughts?
I just picked up an 03 3.7L manual trans to fix up. So far I'm impressed by the motor and drivetrain (and steering!). I was never looking to join the Wrangler club, but the Liberty offers unassuming performance in a compact form. And this forum definitely helped to verify its potential.
True 4x...
Hmm, if the coils are sold as pairs I've made a mistake which changes things a bit, making the OME route 2x$ instead of 4x$. My apologies.
I'd love to learn more about what to watch for if I went the RC route. Would it wear the CVs, ball joints, front struts??
I spoke to the Dobinsons rep; he...
