CATACLEAN product. Does it work to clean your cats? Or will it kill them.

This is exactly my question----- I am wondering (and hoping) this is a fault with either the upstream or downstream passenger side O2 sensors. I did risk running the CataClean. It ran good the night I ran it through, but now it is worse than ever :/ I could not even let it idle yesterday, it...

CATACLEAN product. Does it work to clean your cats? Or will it kill them.

Alright I cleared codes, started engine and drove around block. Came back and got these new codes: P0158 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Bank 2 Sensor 2 P0300 Multiple Random Misfire P0152 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Bank 2 Sensor 1 P0157 Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Bank 2 Sensor 2

CATACLEAN product. Does it work to clean your cats? Or will it kill them.

Sorry I'm a bit overwhelmed with problems right now and under a lot of time pressure having work to get done (worst possible time for vehicle problems) Here is a review of what I have done: - Replaced serpentine belt and pulley - Put in new water pump - Replaced all spark plugs - Replaced all...

CATACLEAN product. Does it work to clean your cats? Or will it kill them.

The ongoing theory I'm afraid of is since my vehicle has 90K miles.... PERHAPS adding CataClean will release a lot of built up gunk from the engine into the system, and block the cats entirely. So as that theory goes, CataClean works great with new cars where the light just popped on, but old...

CATACLEAN product. Does it work to clean your cats? Or will it kill them.

2004 Jeep Liberty driver here. Can anyone please share your experiences using the product CataClean for the dreaded Check Engine light and P0420, P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshhold codes. Videos are all over Youtube about it. A new catalytic converter cost around $500-$600 apiece...

Berrymans B-12 Chemtool fuel injector cleaner- destroyed engine?

The only code that could be the ignition coil I can see is the P0300 'Random Multiple Misfire Detected'. But this does not give a specific cylinder,to say which coil is bad.... it just says random and multiple. This makes it look like its not an ignition coil problem

Berrymans B-12 Chemtool fuel injector cleaner- destroyed engine?

--A scanner will tell you which one/s are bad. Serious engine damage can result from just a single O2 sensor being bad.-- The engine has been running fine for 3 years up until last week though I just changed out all the spark plugs with new. They didn't look good, but it didn't seem to make...

Berrymans B-12 Chemtool fuel injector cleaner- destroyed engine?

    >> I doubt the Berryman's had anything to do with your problems. Find a new mechanic. >> I've had the same mechanic for 5 years, he's been fine up until now. Anyway its extremely strange that I drove the car for 3 years and this never happened, and then started happening the day after I put...

Berrymans B-12 Chemtool fuel injector cleaner- destroyed engine?

Well so does anyone recognize any of these codes and know if its OK to drive, or serious damage will happen? Should I get an oil change? Transmission service? Or would they make no difference in this case. Have you used Berrymans before, and had something similar happen? It seems the fuel...

Berrymans B-12 Chemtool fuel injector cleaner- destroyed engine?

2004 Jeep Liberty 6 cyl. It has been running fine aside from an oxygen sensor being out, which a mechanic had told me not to worry about. It has about 90,000 miles on it. After watching many Youtube videos on fuel additives/injector cleaners this week, I thought well maybe its time. Many...

Difficult exhaust pipe problem- bad weld

Well here's the mess I'm in. I bought a used '04 Jeep Liberty last year and have since discovered that the previous owner did a bad weld job on the exhaust pipe coming out of the muffler. I realized this when the exhaust pipe broke off when driving a few blocks from my house today, right at the...

    sudden Catalytic Converter blowout?

'04 6 cyl Jeep Liberty with around 80K miles. Two days ago suddenly a rattle started, though it kind of comes and goes. After getting an oil change, the Jiffy Lube tech (excuse me, whatever you want me to call him) said he found the problem, it was a loose heat shield. A bolt was off, he...

    Old trusty rusty......

    >>unless it was like a few hundred dollars title in hand.>> Seriously, a few hundred dollars? The Kelly bluebook value of the vehicle for year and mileage, options (6 cyl, 4wd, tow harness, etc) came out to around $3900-$4200. That's quite a hit for the rust! I mean I don't like it either...

    Old trusty rusty......

You mean the hole where the harness is? I can't figure out if that is a rust hole, or if someone actually cut it to access the wiring. I don't see how its possible, a spot could rust through like that?- unless water sat in the drivers side for months maybe. But then you'd think the carpet...

    Old trusty rusty......

OK I got out there and got some more photos of the undercarriage. You'll notice there is a wiring harness underneath the car- it looks like a piece of the floor has rusted through, or it was cut, I can't tell. Its odd. But, I suppose one could easily get a piece of stainless steel plate and...

    Old trusty rusty......

    >>Is there a reason you're looking to buy a Liberty? Unless you're looking for 4wd, there's probably better/cheaper options.>> Isn't this literally, a Jeep Liberty forum? And the people here are recommending not to buy one. Pretty funny.
