As I have Re-geared my 2.8CRD 6 Speed manual from 3.55 to 4.10 I needed to go up a tyre size in order to keep the Jeep moving slightly faster than 60mph at 2500rpm. Lol
Hello Adrian,
I've read with great interest your email exchanges with Seth and I am very close to order a kit for my 2.8CRD as well but before going ahead I would like to ask you a couple of questions.
As your KJ is a RHD like mine for the UK market could you pleae confirm if the fact you...
And what about using the 2.5CRD with Disk brakes front and rear axles in 4.10 without modifying anything ?
I would loose ESP and ABS but I can hide the amber LEDs in the dashboard and drive like this or would that trigger more trouble ?
I am sorry to be asking again but I don't understand your point here.
If I buy a complete rear axle from a 2.5 KJ CRD with 4.10 ratio in order to fit the front diff from the same Jeep as well.
The rear axle will come complete with the 2 half shafts. I am not going to remove the half shafts...
What do you mean by this? Are you talking about the rear axle from the old 2.5CRD? If that's the case I asked you in a previous post if you think it would be OK to use my axle flanges bolted on this axle so I would not remove the housing from that axle. If that makes sense.
I thought my post was clear enough but officially not.
I don't intend to keep the Drums, they wouldn't fit in my wheels anyway.
I would remove the flanges from the old (2.5CRD) axle where the Drums are attached to and bolt my (2.8CRD) axle flanges to this old axle so it would be then...
Hi Troy,
Sorry about this but I would like to clarify something because I am not sure I understand you on this one.
Just in case the Front Diff of the KK is not a possible swap with mine I want to be 100% sure that the option of replacing my front and rear 3.55 ratio by the 4.10 ratio of...
Yes that's right if the front Diff of a 2.8 CRD KK Manu (built in 2009 since it was first registered in January 2010) is the same as my 2.8 CRD KJ Manu year 2007 (built in 2006) then I don't need to replace the rear axle as there is nothing wrong with mine.
I know that both have a Final...
Guys !!
I found an alternative!!
An other breaker has a 2010 Jeep KK 2.8 CRD Limited Manual and I checked it has the NSG370 6 speed Manu Gear box like mine with the same Final ratio of 3.55.
If the front Diff of this one fits mine that would save me a lot of work instead of replacing...
Yes that's a good point so I checked my rear axle. The axle flangles are bolted on the axle itself so I can remove them and put them on the 2004 axle so I'll have the sensors at each ends and I won't connect the center speed sensor of that "new" axle.
What do you think of my idea? Possible or...
Hi guys,
I found a complete set Front and Rear Diffs coming from a 2.5CRD Manual year 2004. It has a 4.11 ratio but that could be a bonus since I lifted my KJ and fitted 31in tyres to it.
But can you guys who are in the know tell me if it's all going to fit with the existing drive...
Hi Bob,
Thanks to look into my problem mate but I just found in LOST a link to the Automobile-Catalog the complete Catalog of Cars, car specs database and according to them the 2.8CRD Auto has a ratio of 3.73 but the 2.8CRD Manual has a ratio of 3.55 !!
So if they are correct and I think...
If I found a breaker with an Auto 2.8 CRD could someone please tell me if a front diff from a 2.8CRD with Auto gearbox would fit without regearing my 2.8CRD Manu ?
Do you know if there is a mark somewhere on the Diff that shows what the ratio is because I am buying this over the phone with breakers who haven't got a clue.
So do you think the Front diff of a 2.5CRD year 2004 Manu gear box would be ok for my 2.8CRD year 2007 Manu ?
I know mine has a ratio of 3.73 but does the 2.5CRD Export are all 4.10 ?
Thanks for the info Troy. So to get the same Diff with the same gears it must come from exactly the same model then.
Would a front diff from a 2.8CRD with Auto gearbox fit my 2.8CRD Manu ?
