    DIY transmission flush?

I should have clarified, I am not necessarily looking to use any type of cleaner additive for the "flush". In this instance I am using "flush" in place of saying "complete fluid replacement", I want to get all (or most of) the fluid out of the transmission and have clean/new fluid, instead of...

    DIY transmission flush?

there is also armory fiat/chrysler/jeep in albany and saratoga chrysler/jeep/dodge in this area. when the time comes she needs an inspection i would suggest going to a Jiffy Lube and telling them not to touch or replace anything on the vehicle. they are usually in and out for a state...

    DIY transmission flush?

it was goldsteins lol I stopped doing business with them a couple years ago. they definitely have some great techs there, but i shouldn't have to request a senior tech who I know and trust for an oil change, or babysit the vehicle while the work is being performed. For that waste of time, I...

    DIY transmission flush?

i s*** you not, it is a chrysler/jeep/dodge dealer only. they even showed me everything they used and explained the process when i found out they didn't change the filter. I even have the 12 qt bag-in-box jug of BG atf they sold me assuring me it was atf+4 approved, (which i later learned it...

    DIY transmission flush?

again, no clear answers to the original question posted in this thread. the recommendation seems to be "take it to the dealer so it's done right" well my dealership uses/used the wrong fluid, doesn't change the filter, and likely doesn't even think about doing a re-flash or re-learn...

    DIY transmission flush?

not in the 2006 service manual, maybe that was just standard procedure for the 02-04 KJ. Also, the FSM says to only use mopar ATF+4 approved fluid. the jeep dealer i was going to for service was using BG ATF, which i am sure is great stuff but it isn't MOPAR ATF+4 approved AFAIK. so if they...

    DIY transmission flush?

sounds like fake news to me. I could see there possibly being a difference in a neglected transmission, but like I said, it's been changed every 30k miles.

    DIY transmission flush?

I have a ton of BG Automatic Transmission clean and I am due for transmission fluid and filter replacement. If possible i would like to do the fluid flush myself. I do not have a flush machine, but if I disconnect the return line on the transmission cooler and feed the transmission fluid to...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Finally replaced the multi-function switch, for years it has been flicking the fog lights off whenever the wheel would kick the turn signal off. recently it started going crazy with the dimmer and interior lights so needless to say it had to go. today will be engine oil and filter as well as...

    Wire Run for Backup Cam

the backup camera i have is run by the pioneer deck that it came with, I haven't looked at the manual too closely, but from the looks of it, the camera is powered and controlled by the deck, no other inputs needed. TBH, i was never crazy about the thought of tapping into any of the factory...

    Wire Run for Backup Cam

I will be doing the same thing, here are my ideas so far: mount the camera inside the vehicle looking through the rear window, (not my favorite idea because it isn't very beneficial) mounting the camera in place of the center cap on the spare tire, removing the rear wiper assembly and using...

    Speaker relocation?

I am getting ready to once again replace my front door speakers. as well as the wire that runs them as it has developed a short in the transition boot between the door and jamb. I was thinking something like a soundbar in a wrangler or in the plastic trim panel by the driver/passenger's...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Haven't done much with the jeep lately, been spending all my money on tools. hoping to tackle some rust on the rockers and door seams when the weather gets better.

What did you do to your jeep today?

search for weldingtipsandtricks on youtube, a ton of great videos and a good resource for learning. my advice for beginners: use good wire, lincoln or miller brand has always worked well for me, use good clean metal, get a couple of cheap grinders and set them up with different...

    Auto Enginuity scanner

Does anyone have experience with the Auto Enginuity ST-06 USB scan tool? I am looking to replace my current scanner with something a bit more capable and adaptable. I have a really outdated OTC unit that i can't do much with on newer vehicles and the "nicer" of the cheap harbor freight...

What did you do to your jeep today?

took the center caps for the MOABs and cleaned them up on the lathe, then painted them matte black to match the wheels. Also, bought a POM rivet tool at hazard fright, since I will have to replace a wheel well liner when I mount the new wheels.
