just received my new sway bar links and bushings...next on the list is a timing cover gasket, should i just replace the timing set while i am in there? 2006 3.7 with 138k on the clock.
yesterday i replaced both upper ball-joints, the passenger side cv axle and passenger side front brake hose. paid a tow truck $135 to go about 1 mile. AAA will be my next investment.
hey junkman, welcome to JKJC. i've watched all your videos and have learned a ton from you. just want to say thanks for all the info you have contributed to the detailing world. we're glad to have you here. as always, excellent work on that paint.
I got my gen 4.5 a arms about 5 or 6 years ago. They did not come with the spacers. Had an upper ball joint let go today so i got them locally so i can replace them in the morning.
I have appropriately sized washers i just wanted to get an idea on how many to use.
So i will be replacing my upper ball joints tomorrow, as well as my passenger side cv axle, and brake hose. Has anyone got a measurement for the thickness of the boot spacer?
yea i can't tell if it is coming from the weep hole or the gasket though. i replaced the water pump a couple of years ago so i don't think that would be the issue but i'm keeping my eye on it. i may just pull up the receipt for the pump and see if it is still under warranty.
noticed a coolant leak from the water pump. not sure if it is the pump gasket or if the impeller bearing seal is on it's way out. the leak only happens when it sits cold for long enough. picked up a new gasket at napa yesterday as well as some rtv to dress it with.
pulled the center console/cover out yesterday, cleaned everything up, did the "manual adjustment of the e brake lever and tomorrow i'm getting an inspection done. really exciting stuff.
i'm sorry tom, but i just can't see the difference, it might be distinguishable if you stuff a dana 60 under the front end but AFAIK, there are only 2 jeeps on this forum.

problem seemingly solved.
the battery i had was only putting out 365CCA (napa legend 84 which i think was rated for like 880cca), so i think it had a dead cell (voltage was low as well and it wouldn't charge up to more than 12.1 volts).
replaced it with a napa 9834 legend agm and when i got...

that's why you don't have your own fab company.
