    Completely Screwed

yea, I believe the mad dog has plenty of real world experience. they call it a Negligent discharge for a reason. that reason being that it is completely preventable. if you are going to carry, you should invest in training. that training will most likely save your life if you ever has to...

What did you do to your jeep today?

received all of the specialty tools for the re-gear...the carrier bearing pre-load adjuster should be here today. now I have to find the free time to do the work.

    Regearing

unless you spend a lot of time on the skinny pedal with one or more of the front tires in the air, then the JBA steel diff is not for you, unless you plan on lifting higher and running 32 or 33" tires, then the cost would be worth the ability to have 4.56 gears. I haven't looked into lockers...

what unlocks a Lib's front hubs?

the liberty does not use locking hubs. the front driveline is always moving even in 2wd. there are a lot of potential causes for noise in the front driveline. the easiest thing to check is the front driveshaft cv joints, (check boots for tears or holes).

    4.10s in a 2006 3.7L

I do not know exactly how long it will take. The dealership quoted me about 6 hours of labor for each axle. I suspect that the kid (he looked about 12) just looked it up on alldata (I asked for a quote to build the front axle using a donor housing and to do the work on the rear) I doubt that...

Jeep is home...now to start problem solving!

hard to tell from the video, i would start with checking the tires for cupping or uneven wear, after that i would make sure they are balanced. next i would check u-joints on the rear driveshaft, e-brakes, brake calipers (to make sure they are not hanging up at all). i wouldn't think it is an...

    Better Performance?

this is honestly the only "performance mod" with any noticeable gain IMO. parts alone for a re-gear to 4.10 with Detroit truetracs front and rear and a new intermediate shaft for the front axle as well as a donor front axle ($150 from a junkyard) have totaled just over $2200 so far. I am...

    Rock Lizard Warning

Your bank or credit card company that you used through paypal has much more power than paypal does. Contact paypal by phone explain the situation...if they refuse to help, then contact your bank.

    Rock Lizard Warning

3 months since you were supposed to receive the order and you still haven't heard a thing, no calls being returned, emails being ignored, etc... I would say it is time to get on the phone with the credit card company or go to the bank and have them cancel the transaction, notify rlf that you...

    Restoring My KJ?

if you want to keep it for a long time, I suggest you get over to elmo's autobody in scotia or harts collision in east greenbush. yes, rust can be repaired. but the correct process for repairing and preventing rust is quite involved. on the topic of POR-15: I would not use the rust...

exactly the answer i was looking for, my uncle knows his stuff very well but most of the work he has done has been on solid axles, and truck axles. so it looks like i am better off spending the cash on labor than on specialty tools. now i just have to start making phone calls.

Ok so I have almost all of the parts I need, the overhaul kit for the front and new front housing will be here tomorrow. I looked through the fsm and it seems I need to get a specialty tool to set pinion depth and a couple other specialty drivers and pullers for the axle seals and bearings (it...
