    i guess cold is relative to the OP unless it's measured with a thermometer. The engine produces so much heat that you'll feel a difference at a stop. Who knows where your location is? perhaps you're in the desert or somewhere hot. Too many variables.

    if your system was open to the atmosphere then i think you'll need to change the dryer/accumulator(?) for the gasket, use a socket to help get them in. Honestly, the best is to get pro help. I brought mine to a shop that does AC only and they were able to find pinhole sized leaks. Haven't had...

    also do a cooling system pressure test. I had a hair line crack on my reservoir tank that took some real inspection to find. Pressure testing didn't reveal it for some reason.

    i usually use a pick to help with the locking tabs. to hold the connectors together, zipties would be your friend.

    You would have seen a nipple that the hose you're missing connects too from another nipple by the radiator cap.
