I live in North East Pa. where the winters are cold and snowy! I put 200 pounds in the back and a pair of studded snow tires on.. I have a 2010 Libby 2wd that I bought in Florida...
The white space on my temperature gauge went out about 6 months ago.. I can see the illuminated red line though. I just let it be. Mine is a 2010 Liberty.
I have used a plug and play unit from etrailer.com and it was very simple to install except for the power line I had to run from the battery to the rear. I bought the heavy duty type. still 30 minute install.
When they drop the tranny the torque converter is right there on the flywheel. If they are rebuilding the tranny then they should replace the torque converter.
What year is the jeep and what model? Most newer jeep are electronically controlled cruise control.
In the older vehicles we used to use a spray bottle filled with water and sprayed the hoses and when the engine picked up on the rpm's that was where the leak was. Now everything is controlled by...
The location where it is now is doesn't make it easy to change the filter. It also drips oil when changing it.
The location now is in the front of the engine on an angle.
I have a 2wd Libby and at first after moving from Florida to Pa about 3 years ago I was in the mindset to sell mine and buy a 4wd.
The first winter was horrible and I was getting stuck in a 3" snowfall. I had stock Wrangler tires and they were half worn. That summer I bought a new set of tires...
Had a Mopar battery in the Libby originally and that was 7 years old when I pulled it out only because I didn't like the way it was cranking the engine when it started to get cold out.
NAPA Legend
I just bought a NAPA Legend battery just for the starting power.
It has 800 cold cranking amps and 115 minutes of reserve power. This may not be what your looking for but check the specs of any battery you buy for the right application.
I have had the opposite on my 2010 Jeep Liberty. Hot air on the drivers side but cool air coming in on the passenger side. I looked into the engine compartment and saw open areas where the AC line go through the fire wall. I plugged those up and have had no issues since.
My 2010 Liberty doesn't have the ACC switch position on the ignition either. I leave the key in the on-run position for this. Weird I know but somewhere down the line they eliminated this. I can't even rotate the key counter clockwise after the off position.
Just looked at my 2010 Liberty and reached 100,077 miles. So far just brakes and a speed sensor, torque converter changed and tranny serviced. Lucky I guess.
I had a speed sensor in the rear stop working intermittently and it would send my ABS light , traction control light on and stopped my cruise control from working also. Once I replaced the speed sensor all was well.
I had mine replaced at 94000 miles. Same problem with the shuddering. Cost was $75 to remove tranny and $75 to install tranny. Torque converter was a Billet Aluminum style. transmission shop said it was a heavy duty to dissipate more heat. I bartered for some electrical work for the torque...
