I own a 2006 Liberty 4x4 3.7L gaser. I looked for my pvc valve and think it is attached to the oil fill tube. Am I right about that? I can't get it off because of a hard plastic retainer that doesn't cooperate.
What's the trick to getting the old pvc valve out? This assuming I have...
My wife's 2006 Liberty Sport had the cloth that easily stained with the splash of water. My wife was sick over it. She always said she loves the Jeep except for the seats. So...
This past Christmas I gave her brand new leather seat skins that I ordered from the OEM supplier for Jeep...
For the life of me, I can't understand why Chrysler would delete the passenger side and rear tail gate key'd locks. It's supposed to be a wilderness vehicle afterall. Do they expect me to carry an electronic fob/key when camping?
Our 2006 KJ is my wife's vehicle so I carry a standard key to...
When we took our Liberty in for the lower control arm recall, they saved one from another Liberty. The rust problem was serious. I am glad we had ours taken care of.
Sorry for the lengthy delay on the results. I forgot about this post.
Here is the finished product. The front seats have map pockets on their backside.
$680 for the kit from Signature Seat Comfort out of California which included the map pockets, "Jeep" embroidery, and shipping. You can...
Hi All,
I haven't posted here in a very long time, but I just had to share this with you all.
After 35 years of marriage, at age 54 my wife has finally experienced "love for a vehicle" for the first time with her 2006 Liberty Sport 4x4. She loves the rugged "Jeep" look with the raw gray...
OP here,
Thanks all for the tip. I did buy a new unit from my local Jeep dealer for $20 and change because my local Auto Zone wanted $25.
I installed it this evening and all is well.
Thanks Again!
PS: When we bought our 2006 Liberty 1.5 years ago, there were no outstanding recalls...
Over the weekend, our 2006 Liberty multi-speed fan control stopped working. The fan blows air only at maximum speed. I assume there is a module that provides the other speeds, and it has failed. Any tips on where the part is located and a good place to purchase a replacement?
Our 2006 Liberty Sport 4x4 is 100% stock with a new set of stock size Firestone Destination tires, and 40,000 street miles. We tow it behind our motor home. I am concerned of taking it down into Canyonlands through Potash, to Musselman Arch and maybe down to the Colorado River, and then up...
It has been nearly 3 months and a good amount of driving time & miles on the Firestone Destinations. All is still very well. Glad I bought them. They are a very quiet and comfortable riding tire. You wouldn't think so when looking at the aggresive thread design.
Well I got the new Firestone Destination A/Ts on the Jeep Liberty. I noticed the difference immediately. The ride is much more comfortable, they grip the road much better under all conditions, and the tire-to-road noise completely went away. I hate to compare them to the old OEM GY-Wranglers...
Adding here, going through Tire Rack's reviews & surveys (ranked #2 of all choices), and your statements about "Quiet" ride, I think I will order them tomorrow.
I would definitely get the Wrangler Silent Armor if I have a Jeep Wrangler....for the name sake.
Any last inputs?
I have stalled on this due to a busy life. I really need to do something soon. Thanks everyone for the great input. All will be considered. I encourage more input as well.
Luke, Sorry about your sufferage too. Even I have a mild case, so I have a "little" idea of what you two are going...
I do not have skid plates. The only thing I see under there is a roller thing, I think to protect the rear differential.
Generally speaking, our adventuring would be limited to primitive dirt & gravel roads with an occasional easy washout. We did wonder if the vehicle could handle that...
We own a 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4 with stock 16" alloy wheels. It's my wife's daily driver around home and is also towed behind our motor home on vacations as shown here.
My wife has a lighter case of Multiple Sclerosis. One of the troubles her illness gives her, is ringing in her...
It would be great if we had an area for members to post Jeep Liberty items for sale and "WTB" Wanted To Buy.
I am on a Corvette forum which has such, and that area gets a lot of activity.
We have a matter of great concern with our 2006 Liberty Sport.
On very rare occasion when the drive wheel slips upon quick acceleration, the traction control kicks in as normal, but will have a one to two second delay before the system wakes up and allows the vehicle to move forward again...
I just bought a brand new EZ Roadmaster tow bar bracket #521423-1 off Ebay for $250. I will eventually get to installing it myself. I won't need it till next year in 2011. It will be a rainy-day project.
Here are the details of the bracket and it's installation...
