Got a "salvage" 2006 Renegade...
Thanks for the thoughts and the link... I found the same information before... On the KIAs and Hyundais they have drawings showing where the harnesses actually are routed and they also have schematics showing where each wire starts and ends... When I removed the fire damaged shift assembly I did see a cable going up to the steering wheel shaft...I never thought about it working the "other way"... Good Thoughts! Dave- daves06lrenegade

You need to remove the center console ...There are two screws in the bottom of the CD storage box and one under the 2WD/4WD lever boot... You should be then able to lift the console...You will find under the shift lever a solenoid with a steel rod on the left hand side of the shift lever... Pull...- daves06lrenegade

Got a "salvage" 2006 Renegade...
I'm a moderator on kia-forums.com and just "saved" a Black 2006 Renegade... It was a victim of an under the tunnel fire... It came up through the 2WD/4WD hole in the floorboard... I'm comfortable with electrical and mechanical problems with cars... I will need a little help with help with...- daves06lrenegade
