Warn 9500i Winch in ARB Bumper

Over the summer I picked up a Warn 9500i winch for cheap from a local ad. Then a few weeks later I found a used ARB bumper with in driving distance. Natively, a 9500i will not fit the ARB. It is too tall and would mount in the wrong orientation for the ARB. The bumper was is pretty rough shape...

JBA ucas - grease fittings and bump stops

I bought these from Rock Road Outfitters many years ago. They cost a bit more than cutting the bump stop. :)

    JKS Sway Bar Disconnect Kit

I bent a punch when installing the studs. I made a "tool" from a 3/4 inch nut if/when I need to remove the quick disconnect studs. Its pretty simple to make, take a 3/4 inch nut drill out all the threads with a 3/4 drill. I used a step drill that had a max size of 3/4 inch. Then drill two 3/16...

    Frozen camber bolts

If you are set on replacing the front lower control arms and bolts, the easiest way to remove them is to use a carbide reciprocating saw blade. Cut on either side of the bushings. Removing the lower control arms doesn't make it easier to replace the steering rack bushings.

Iron Rock Off Road Rear Lower Control Arms

When installing on the passenger side, I had to unbolt the exhaust union joint just infront of the muffler to get the body side bolt out. After putting the vehicle on jackstands,I removed the rear springs and shocks to "unload" the axle to make it easier to install the control arms.

Iron Rock Off Road Rear Lower Control Arms

    JKS Sway Bar Disconnect Kit

Got to test the disconnects out today. With the sway bar disconnected, the Jeep can have one front wheel against the bump stop, while the other front wheel is at full droop.

    JKS Sway Bar Disconnect Kit

I installed JKS kit 2030 (original for a JK) onto my KJ. At stock height, the sway bars links are about the same length, and for both vehicles use 1/2 inch (12mm) hardware at both ends. The install went pretty well, I used the longer pins with spacer on the bottom, and the shorter pins mounting...

    Emergency brake won’t hold vehicle!

Took the jeep for a test drive, the cables do get tension, but very poorly hold the vehicle on a hill. I adjusted the "star" adjusters so they were just skimming the inside of the drum. I may try an turn them out a few notches to see if that helps without causing unnecessary drag and heat.

Install Teraflex 231J 2WD Low Kit

This kit will create a spot for your transfer case to let you to go into 2WD low. This helps prevent driveline bind from being in 4WD low on high traction surfaces. This allows your transfer case to shift into the 2.72:1 (typical) ratio while still keeping the vehicle in 2WD. I have used it a...

    Emergency brake won’t hold vehicle!

I added 2 small springs today, I don't get exactly the same effect as shown in the video, but it does help. I am able to raise my brake handle and get the tension of the cables to stop the lever instead of the end stop on the lever.

    Emergency brake won’t hold vehicle!

I replaced all the hardware last year hoping it will improve the parking brake, but it did not. I will try adding a spring to as shown in the links/video to see if that improves the brake.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Most manufactures list the KJ front coil over assemblies as struts, take Monroe for example. They list part number 171577L as a strut. Though I don't know if being a part of MacPherson style suspension is the deciding difference between strut and coil over.
