Hi,
Well that figures. My V8 Discovery used to knock under light load where I live (750m up in the mountians) using 95 fuel. Put 98 in it and it was fine. The thing is of course it was a Euro engine which on average require higher octane fuels than US engines.
I'll stick with 95 in my Jeep...
Hi all!!
What grade of fuel do Jeep say to use and what do you guys use?
We have 91RON and 95 RON and 98RON here. We use the RON octane rating and you guys use PON so..
91RON = 84
95RON = 87
98RON = 90
I normally use our 95.
Thoughts? :confused:
Hi all,
How many HAMs are there on here with KJs? Where have you put your radios? I am contemplating getting a portable with the relevant accessories to connect it to the car...good idea or not?
Thanks
Oliver

Sorry, It's our British English thing getting lost in translation - dodgy meaning failing etc. :)
As for the park brake switch....does the light flicker if you move the lever? I don't know if they make a 'NC' connection or if they make a 'NO' connection but a multimeter would tell you...
:)Hi!,
Well it can't hurt to read + clear any codes. I use a ScanGaugeII to do mine. ;)The stalling could be a dodgy throttle pos sensor. :confused:
Have you an iffy park brake switch?:cool:
Hi,
Have you reset the computer at all? I would read again and see what it says. The brake warning could be as a result of low fluid or worn pads?
I understand your plight my Disco was off the road for a week with a hard to track vibration causing problems:mad:
Hi,
I have a similar thing. It does feel like a locator arm bush or the ball joint on top of the diff is sloppy. Mine has only doen an easy 41000km so....
The dealers here also loded them up and found nothing wrong.
Maybe just the way they are. My Land Rovers never did that but they did...
Hi,
I have had 1 instance of a TPS error bringing on the engine check light here in NZ. I used my ScanGauge II and cleared it.
It does sound like you might have an issue with yours. They ain't too expensive, and easy to replace.:D
Hi all,
I have a ScanGaugeII as well. Works good in my KJ. In fact, I used it this morning to clear a TPS code that popped up for some reason. All's well now!!:D
Hi,
Well, in most countries in Europe, Australia orange park lights are not allowed. Side marker lamps are not a requirement. They are in New Zealand. Why a clear (non coloured) park lamp lens wasn't used on these Jeeps I don't know. And, since there is a different type of headlight for Export...
Hi all,
I will shoot a snap today.
Are you saying that the 'main' segement of the indicator/park light unit has a dual filament bulb and that there is a small single filament bulb in the outer segments of the unit? This would seem correct to me to allow for the front Federal side marker...
Also,
The stereo in my truck has tweeters in the dash but only 6 speakers in all and no mention anywhere of the Infinity system so i'm hoping they ain't amped as one door speaker is poked:eek:
Oliver :D
Hi,
Only the park lights are in the headlamp body. The indicators are in the 'usual' place. I see the lamp holders for the indicators only have 2 wires. Is the park light on yours in the outside piece or in the same section as the indicator?:confused:
I wann put the park lights back where...
:shock:
Hello all!
I have just purchased an '02 Cheorkee (Liberty) Limited Edition. I imported it form Japan so I have to change the stereo due to their 76Mhz - 90Mhz FM band :grr I have 3 questions for y'all:
1: Where are your park lights? (Mine are in the main headlamp body - Euro spec)...
:DHi,
Mine has front and rear fogs. The rears are activated by pulling the end of the switch when in the 'fog' position. The bottom section of my tial lights light up (25w lamps).
My Jeep is an '02 and has just been imported from Japan. :D
