Yep, just had the 6 inch hitch receiver tubes (2") welded to the factory tow hook mounting plates. If I knew how to weld, I'd definitely fab some up for ya, but unfortunately I haven't acquired the skill of welding... yet :D

Good question. I left the M-bolts on, retaining them with the nuts. I considered taking them out and cleaning them up/painting them, but after reading a few posts about how they can be a weak point when using the shackles as a recovery point, I decided to use them temporarily until I order some...
I'd suggest locking hitch pins if you're going to keep the D-rings on at all times.
I picked up two of these yesterday. They're now painted all black of course :smokin:
Materials:
-(2) factory tow hook mounting plates and hardware
-(2) 6" square hitch receiver tubes (2"x2")
-(2) shackle receivers
-(2) 5/8" hitch pins of your choice
-15mm ratcheting wrench
-Welding gun or someone who knows how to weld
-Self etching primer (optional)
-Semi-gloss...
Just need to replace the transfer case position sensor. There's a few threads on it in the how to section. Quick 10 minute job from underneath the Jeep with a 1-1/2" socket.

Pretty simple mod. I like the d-rings a lot better than the stock tow hooks. Much more functional too.

Shackle receivers arrived at the local post office this morning. I'm hoping they'll be delivered today, but who knows with Hurricane Sandy looming. Will definitely update with pics as soon as they're on the Jeep.
