They clip in, once you take your wheel and tire off on the back side there will be a bunch off little tabs with clips on the end holding them in. You just have to squeeze those and push from the back as they insert from the front side of wheel and they should pop right out.
I forget the length, I went to the hardware store with my Jeep and the hitch went inside grabbed some bolts to test fit. I know the people at the hardware store well so they let me take the bolts outside to see what would work.
I think it looks good with the black wheels and trim not to sure about just the black trim and stock wheel color tho. Ultimate it comes down to if you like it or not you'll be the one driving it!
Correct they are not threaded. Hence the nut and lock washer. I think you may be over thinkin this a little I know it may seem like a big tast but once you get all the prep done drilling holes and what not it goes pretty quick.
You don't have to have a steel plate inside frame rail. You can as added security I guess but I didn't do it and mine are holding just fine. And I actually have used them several times as stated above.
Washers go inside of frame where nut, lock washer and regular washer go. I used as big of washer as I could fit in there instead of using a steel plate as mentioned above. I can vouch for the strength as I have been pulled out and pulled someone else out using these recovery points. And I guess...
They do make a front hitch for the Liberty, pretty sure Curt makes it. Also that hitch mod isn't as hard as it sounds there is no welding involved.
1 - Buy two hitches, decide what drop you want, the more drop the closer to the center they will sit. I went with a 2" drop.
2 - Drill second...
There is no extended length front shocks for the KJ so just go with the ones made for the Jeep and Bilstein and Ironman are some of the better ones. Check out shock warehouse if you haven't already they have always treated me right and have fast shipping.
No problem. Here is what I used as a guide when doing mine. No pics but don't really need them. I can take a couple of mine if you'd like once I get off work.
LOST JEEPS • View topic - Front tow points that are stronger than the Libby!
Painted my Roof Rack and made some stencils that say Jeep and KJ which I painted in yellow to match the front D-Rings. I think it gives it a nice custom touch instead of just plain black :happy107:
