    considerations for a 4.7L swap

I was searching for the HP increase that the HO cams would provide over the stock 4.7L without much luck. The stock 4.7L is 235 HP vs the stock 3.7L at 210 HP. Not a huge jump, but there's a lot more engine to mod with bigger results. What dodge forums were you on? Edit: HO cams provide an...

    considerations for a 4.7L swap

I've searched everywhere for a set of HO cams. They simply don't exist anymore. I'll keep an eye out on ebay, but all the stores I've checked haven't had them in stock for well over a year. :(

    considerations for a 4.7L swap

Wow that chip is expensive. I plan on doing the install with my mechanic and this will be my first time actually working on an engine. Nervous and excited about the whole prospect. What other "little things" are we talking about here? What about the HO cams that 04liberty mentioned? what...

    considerations for a 4.7L swap

This is my thought, as well. If I can manage to keep the physical cost below $1000.00 (excluding engine), I will pull the trigger this weekend. I'm still putting together a parts list. Here's what I have so far: 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7L v8, plus ECM and wiring harness from the same...

    considerations for a 4.7L swap

First off, I have a serious opportunity to go forward with this as a project. I've been told that its definitely doable by one of the guys that I ride with, but that I'd be crazy because of the IFS regardless of having a D30s/RCV CV axles. I was told that my ring an pinion would be too small...

    JBA 4" lift...new CV joints?

I have the JBA 6" with a set of the RCV front and rear axles on order. Pricey, yes, but I'd rather have the peace of mind knowing that my front CVs are no longer the weak point when I'm an hour out from civilization. My tie rod angles are what keep me awake at night. Still a hundred times more...

    Any one else running hids?

Yep. Down here, it's pretty much a war of the lights. People regularly drive with their brights on and it's annoying as hell, too. You flick your high beams at them to let them know that they are blinding you and they don't flinch. However, having 4 100w Hella Rallye HID spreadbeams and 2...

    She's done!

Thanks! Trailready and Spyderlock make the best looking beadlockers, IMO. Contrary to popular belief, surprisingly easy to mount and maintain -even for daily driver use. :)

    Chrysler 8.25 D44 swap

Yes they do. Actually, my KJ will have the first set. :smokin: Just don't ask me how much I paid for them. :disgust:

On my blackberry. Can't look it up. How much did you pay for the set?

    Chrysler 8.25 D44 swap

Discovered that there's no real need for any of this. RCV makes chromoly axle shafts for the Liberty.

    She's done!

After months and of waiting on parts to and undoing crap work from a crap mechanic, the '02 is finally finished! In the beginning there was ....a busted upper ball joint. Minus all the RL gear, but still a cool shot.

    Chrysler 8.25 D44 swap

Just for curiosity's sake, let's say that I wanted to swap the stock Chrysler 8.25 out for a stock width D44. What axle would be the optimum donor? How much of a hassle would it be to accomodate the swap? You know, for science's sake. ;)
