Isn't there a drawing in the lid telling you what the relays and fuses are?
I think you need to look in the dash fuse box to start with, hopefully just a blown fuse.

If you have a sunroof the drains block up, you probably have a load of mud and leaves blocking the scuttle drains, look through the plastic grill under the windscreen.
This is mainly a US site so generally take passenger side as drivers side unless its me or one of the other Brits your talking to.
Are you sure this is a head gasket issue? Is one plug oily? Have you checked the compression and looked at the valve guides and stem seals?
At 225k you are probably looking at a very worn set of pistons and bores.
If its got the factory alarm it sounds like one of the micro switches that the alarm uses to 'see' if everything is shut has failed. The usual one is the bonnet switch, on the left side when you stand looking at the engine. Unplug it and tape the wire up and see if that sorts it.
I'm setting up to do the rear arms front bush, torn again so this time I'm going to polyurethane and instead of hunting for the proper ones I've made it harder by buying Landrover radius arm bushes so I will have to weld a new tube into the arms to take the slightly smaller diameter. A pain but...
