Yep, already got some to soak the clutches before installing them. Managed to swap them out using a couple of big bolts and washers.
Looking at the gunk I don't think the oil had been changed in this old axle I picked up particularly often.
Guessing its rare to find a liberty that has been...
Thanks, that's excellent.
Its actually a 2004 axle too, which I probably should have said.
I will do the first few short break in runs and check the temperature to make sure its all good.
I am now thinking caliper/springs/shocks......just to finish off the rear end.
Old axle is noisy after...
Hi, part way through a rear axle rebuild for my Liberty. Hoping there is someone out there who plays axles or has a FSM.
I got a spare axle with tracloc (lucky find) so I didn't need to hurry the build, and have fitted new bearings and clutches so far.
I am now torqueing up the pinion...
I have to replace my rear axle and so far navigated the minefield of choices.
3 channel ABS and rear discs as i have a 2005. As far as i can tell the flanges appear to match too but i havent measured that.
Today i bought another axle to check over and rebuild so i can take my time with it...
I thought my AC compressor was going, but it was actually the waterpump. The load on it changed with AC engaged and made it knock.
Pump had never leaked and i had pulled the compressor before realising it hadnt self destructed.

Reman unit bought from Cool Air Parts earlier this year.
Never used or fitted. Absolutely perfect/spotless part.
My rattling noise was the waterpump despite it not leaking! Jumped the gun a bit with ordering a pile of parts.
$100
Local pick up from Lisle IL is preferred but if you...

I wil have to look up our build sheet. One thing i do know it didnt have the offroad package. The rest is just guess work.

I did turn it around as it sits against the door better, the outer edge was flatter. I did think it was better having the heat sink pointing to free air. I dont think we will be getting the amp too hot in our use, but nice to know it is 'as recommended'.

Thats pretty much what i did, except i keep mine down under the speakers, i cycled the windows and there wasnt a problem.
I also used zipties to hold the amps in as they dont come loose and i had plenty of them! I though a bit of hard foam or rubber betweeen the door and the amp would let it...
I mounted just under the speaker to the inner door. Space is limited and i wanted to keep the wire runs as close to original as possible. Space is limited between the speaker screw inserts but it fits.
To do it properly some stick on foam pad would help with making sure the amp pulled nicely...
