A new error code popped up today while still trying to sort out my First Daily Start-Up issue. ‘P0116 / Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.’ I found what I think is the correct sensor, with two next to each other. Which sensor needs to be replaced… I believe it’s the smaller of the two, but...

Nice work on finding a solution for Liberty’s without the schrader valve on the fuel rail. No idea why mine doesn’t have it; maybe a running-production change to save Jeep three cents. Based on its age, I’m not sure how much longer I want to spend money on this vehicle, but my wife...
Your description of the routing seems correct, just no schrader valve on passenger-side fuel rail. Note the fuel rail on the passenger side ends near the firewall.
Thank-you for your continuing help. I certainly can’t explain it but there is no schrader valve anywhere on the passenger-side fuel rail.
I watched the video and re-inspected under the hood. I cannot explain it but there is no schrader valve or any other fitting on the passenger-side fuel rail...
‘Essentially, there is a fitting on the fuel rail called a schrader valve. (Looks like a fat tire valve) and - key off, cold jeep, you remove the cap from the valve and thread your tool onto that. Maybe a little spray of fuel.’
I did another test today (Tuesday) and same result as yesterday...
Okay, I was able to do this test today. I cycled the ignition five times and then started the engine. It wasn’t a perfectly ‘normal’ start-up like before this issue, but was far better than not doing the ignition cycling test. I’ll probably do the test a few more times, both ‘cycling’ and not...
(I have a 18 second video but no idea if it can be posted here or the process to post if allowed.)
2012 Liberty Sport / 95k miles
I’ve had an ongoing start-up issue since summer. All these years and the Liberty always started up immediately with no drama… and now this. On initial start-up, it...
I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty Sport 4-Wheel Drive with the specifications listed below. I’d like to know how I determine what transfer case number I actually have (four are listed from research but only two would apply). I also need to know the correct correct gear oil required for ‘normal’ driving...
Hello;
I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty Sport that has very little heat from the HVAC system. After a long warm-up period and then driving about three miles, I get temperatures of 58.5° on the drivers-side defroster and temperatures of 65.3° on the passenger-side defroster. That was barely above the...
Had a similar issue with my 2012 Liberty. Took it to AutoZone and they pulled the codes that indicated a drivers’ side rear ABS sensor. Replaced both rear sensors and problem solved.
You need to go to a parts store that will read all codes for you. A basic reader doesn’t do it. I had a similar problem and the errors showed ABS Rear Wheel Sensor, Left. The rears are straightforward to replace if you’re only doing the sensors. Replaced both rears and issue resolved.
On my 2012 Liberty, a smoke test revealed it was the black hard-tubing that runs along the firewall. Had a crack at the 45 degree bend. Never would have ‘seen’ it. Required the smoke test at a SMOG shop to find the problem.
TEXT EDIT: Now I'm second-guessing myself. I believe the piping on the...
