Just finshed installing a new heater core, went for a cruise and it feels I went to hell and back that the KJ is so warm. Picked the Jeep up in 2020 and I always knew that I needed a new heater core. Once I removed it today, I went and pulled the top plastic manifold off of the old heater core...- Big Al

Well I took a stab at changing out the heater core today. Started after work and got as far as the dash is loose and hoping to install the hear core tomorrow morning. Watched a few you tubes before starting and flew at it. Will report back when I’m done.- Big Al

Rear end whining on power - How to diagnose cause?
When I acquired my 2003, it came with that high pitch whine and growl when accelerating. Take off the gas and it was quiet. So I opened the diff cover and sludge poured out with metal shavings. Groaning, grinding noise from rear.
I just recently bought my Liberty too and noticed a humming noise on the highway from the rear end. Opened mine up and found the spider gears were a bit chewed up (spalling) like these pictures. Puff of blue smoke from exhaust
Has anyone done valve seals, part numbers? Gotta get a compression test done also to see if the rings and cylinder bores are toast. My engine is consuming oil almost faster than filling up. 146,000 miles on the engine. I can almost say check the gas and fill the oil.- Big Al

Sunroof lubricant
I used molylube that you use in CV joints. Once the oilylube washes away, the dry moly will be still there hopefully. I'll check it next year as I just did it this spring. Will try marine grease next time if the molylube is all washed away- Big Al

I remember seeing a video where a guy removed the coolent lines right at the heater core to burp the system. Never tried it myself, and it's only a suggestion. Could be your fan motor needs replacing. Or the wiring has a bad connection or the plug to the fan is corroded. Starts, but trips out after a few minutes.
