Replaced the coolant reservoir. Easiest job ever? The down-pipe (rhymes with stipple, for the censor) was cracked and the band-aid repair was no longer adequate. ;)
This is a childish question, but did you disconnect the battery and apply a small load (turn key to on position, e.g.) to fully drain the system? Sometimes a power-cycle on the PCM & TCM helps the machine un-learn the old calibration values and gives a fresh start to the learning cycle.
Sorry...
Me, either, I guess. ;)
My regular favorite independent neighborhood shop lost their tech, so I went with the closest big-box place.
Unless they can make good on it for free after I put some miles on those new bushings, the hunt continues.
I had the LCA done under recall a while back. Before then, it was a bucking bull with every change in throttle!
Replacing *all* the front stuff triggered this alignment. I figured it would be near perfect after all those new parts and 7 hours at the neighborhood Firestone. Not so much. I'll...
Got an alignment after replacing a pile of suspension & steering components. Still pulls slightly to the left. Firestone said there's an adjustment that has to be performed at a dealer. Whatever could it be?
It's better now than it was before, and they gave a massive discount for as much...
I swear I saw this horse move. It requires further beating:
Which school of thought do you belong to? I'm gearing up for Option 2, but I'm on the wrong side of Experience to have an opinion.
^^ What kind of spray setup are you using, and are you happy with it? I've been casually considering dabbling, but it's a big buy-in just to make a mess with cheap equipment. ;)
Ooh! Good idea. Shop rate for that stuff, plus shop-price parts, has gotta near two grand! (?)
Thanks for the support and kudos. ❤️
Up next, but not necessarily soon, might be the heater core.
I'm pretty bad at this wrenching stuff, but I enjoy it and I'm stretching my abilities.
It started with a persistent PS fluid leak and some "uncertain" steering.

The 2021 Nicholas Cage "History of Swear Words" is pretty entertaining, if not a bit cringe-inducing from time to time. There's some highly quotable lines in there.
For context, I plan to tie a ribbon on the t3rd of a Jeep that sits in my alley. It needs a heap of work to remain roadworthy -- or to at least restore roadworthiness.
I suppose it's hard to solicit acceptable alternatives when the first pass is censored. "Bird" is the word, but it starts with a "T". (And hits the fan) t0rd? ****?
Um, Happy Memorial Day.
Pardon my juvenile effort to determine if the word **** will be censored. I'm considering a write-up of my pending adventures in the garage in an effort to give back just a little of what this forum has given me. Establishing the permissible lexicon seems like a good first step. :cool...
