The PML 42RLE aluminum transmission pan is the way to prevent the dreaded transmission light. Never had another Transmission light since. https://yourcovers.com/pml-chrysler-dodge-42rle-deep-transmission-pan.html The ATF+4 fluid will stay much cooler ! See Post # 10 in this link...

    Instrument Cluster Not Working

If you take a photo from rear of Jeep, & then look above at the rear differential cover, you will then see the pigtail with 2 wires inside the split loom tubing.

Start by inspecting the pigtail. It was a known issue & restored the tac & speedometer.

    Help

Not that I can find the link, but 2011 KK Jeep liberty FSM mentions the correct Mopar tool for measuring the fluid level correctly. It is based upon temperature & other perimeters. The dealer or 2011 parts fiche may mention the shorter temporary correct dipstick part number.

    Help

I hope the shop understands how to read the fluid level correctly. No transmission dipstick on a KK is engineering at it's worst.

What's the Best Power Steering Pump BRAND to exchange a worn out Mopar one?

Note ATF+4 has greatly improved lubrication properties. The power steering pump will run much cooler, with less noise !

What's the Best Power Steering Pump BRAND to exchange a worn out Mopar one?

I'd consider a flush and ensure you utilize ATF +4 transmission fluid. In or around 2003 all KJ's came with ATF+4 installed by factory for power steering.

What's the Best Power Steering Pump BRAND to exchange a worn out Mopar one?

in post above you stated "Used the dealer brake fluid, (always) " I'm sure you meant power steering fluid...? 2002 KJ's came with power steering fluid, is your KJ running with this or ATF+4 ?

What's the Best Power Steering Pump BRAND to exchange a worn out Mopar one?

Do you see any leaks around pump or lines caused by worn out seals or o rings? Could it be that your 2002 KJ has air entering into the system via the power steering lines? Have you ever added power steering fluid? Note: With the 2002 KJ, most have been converted to red ATF+ 4 transmission fluid...

    Engine Swap

This topic has been discussed & basically the 4.7 does not fit into the engine bay without a huge amount of $ and modifications. There is a major amount of knowledge required to make the new computers to work. You are way better off to simply purchase an 8 cylinder Grand Cherokee. The 3.7 six...

Antifreeze Smell and No Leaks ???

What ever you do, don't add any products like radiator stop leak. That would clog up the whole system . Replacing the heater core is a big job indeed.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Went to adjust standard interior rear view mirror, it flew off & bounced into the passenger seat. Remounting it was easy, as long as you have the small T-bit driver. I guess some blue lock tight should be applied. o_O The upper rear brake lights has the same T-bit, so I used some...

    Mice chewed through wiring harness

Here is direct link to 2003 FSM: http://www.colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/2003JeepKJServiceManual.pdf Regarding mice, I place bounce drier sheets & pieces of Irish spring bar soap around the wiring bundle by master cylinder. Moth balls packets do work too.

    Hello!

Welcome to the forums Mike. The correct coolant for the KJ is Mopar Hoat coolant or Zerex G05 only. If any other type of coolant has even been added, you should flush the entire system and use the HOAT.

    My 11 kk wont start

Do you have a VOM meter? What is the battery voltage reading. It should read 12.6 volts. How old is battery? It also could be the starter relay, or possibly the ignition switch itself.

Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear about the transmission woes. As the R2RLE is fully computerized, I would have your local transmission shop scan for codes, using a high end shop scanner like a Snap on Modis Ultra. Hopefully then the posted codes, will give you an idea what may be wrong...
