How straightforward would a 2.4l 4-****** to the 3.7l v6 swap in my 2003 KJ sport? It's way underpowered IMO and it's got 188k miles on it, I think if it blows up soon I'm gonna put a bigger engine in it. What would my obstacles be? Any metal fabbing or major wiring to change up?

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Major wiring will be needed,no cutting or fabbing but a new cradle, trans, driveshafts,PCM,radiator, hoses, and much, much more will be needed to do that swap and work.

Just trade in 2.4 KJ for 3.7 KJ,simple, easy, and cheaper.

Doesn't the 2.4 have 4.10 gears? Still be cheaper/easier to trade it in.

DO A V8 SWAP!!!

Still all the work and then some modding added on top would be needed to go from a 2.4 to v8.

It's funny how a few have done the 3.7 to 4.7 swap but have totally disappeared, might be more work then anyone imagines to make work in the long term.

I'm sure it is a lot of work. I dropped a Ford FE 427 side oiler in a 67 ford f100 that came with a straight six. A lot of work then and there was no EFI or crazy wires.

That's why you haven't seen my KJ with a V8. If they came out with a plug and play electrical system for it then I'd totally jump on it. My buddy has a 302 in his 07 jk that's has a holley double pumper. Man that thing runs but he said he has over 100 hours just on the electrical system.

Sounds like the best way to go...Are 3.7's easy to find in a manual ****** w/4wd?
