I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty 5 speed manual 3.7 L V6 with 134k miles on it. Recently the check engine light has been flashing and it won't go above 3,000 rpms. When you hit 3000 rpms the car jerks forward and you are not able to accelerate for a few seconds. The whole jeep shakes, when idling and while driving. I thought it was just because I live in the mountains with below freezing temps but today it was in the 50s and still doing it! I just spent $800 a few weeks ago changing all the spark plugs, cleaning all the carbon out, smoking the lines, and changing a cracked head and none of that helped, its running worse then before. Has anyone had this problem and/or knows how to fix it? without costing an arm and a leg!
