Hi all- brand newbie here, had the 2011 four days now!
Love all about it but have a Q: and will probably go drive another new one to verify, but:

Have you Liberty owners experienced this?
========================
In drive, going along 35, 40, 50 mph whatever, and let off gas, it "feels" like there is a major drag on the jeep. Meaning it does not roll nice and free at all - When I put it into neutral [while running], it rolls great so thinking something's up w/ trans, besides being brand new.

AND also noticed when it shifts from 1st to 2nd... you can hear it 'whirring' into 2nd gear, you know, the way a gear sounds.... almost like a motorcycle whirs into gears. Not overly loud though. Never heard a trans going into gear - it IS fairly smooth but absolutely noticable. Traded a 08 Trailblazer that was the king of roll - if you breathed on it, it moved its 4800 lbs., -reallllly nice roll.

Hoping to get some good Jeep roll going in the upcoming 1, 2, 3k miles. Thoughts absolutely welcomed - Thanks, Regards, Jeepgolf

You have a very small, but very heavy truck and the Chrysler transmission is way different from GM transmissions. I came from owning all Oldsmobiles...I could coast for miles in any of my Cutlass or 98's but on the same roads I'm pressing the gas in the Libby the whole time or I roll to a stop.

The buzzing is the normal action of the Chrysler trans doing the motions that it need to do...again it is quite different from the GM but it is normal.

Enjoy the new ride and where you can go in it...:)

Yep, typical ****** stuff. You might notice it less in a few thousand miles. I usually coast in neutral because, as you mentioned, it rolls much longer.

Every GM I've driven seems like there's some sort of automatic cruise control. you let off the gas but you keep going the same speed it seems. freekin hate that. If you've been driving a GM and are used to that, then that is your problem IMO.

Make sure you are going fast enough to allow the ****** to get into O/D which is around 45mph on mine anyway. It will minimize it.

Like Marlon said, fuel is cut off when you back off the gas. (Called DFCO......Deceleration Fuel Cut Off.....common on fuel injected vehicles) If you are not going downhill you will slow down and not free-wheel.

All normal.

Thanks guys for the info

Was not aware of that fuel cut off thing, hmmm. O/D for my Lib is 39MPH

(the Trailblazer just rolls forever - hit O/d 40ish and drive "gingerly" and you can get good MPGs-got 19.25 just prior to trade in.....)

Will see how I do on the Lib these upcoming few thousand miles :>) Regards.
