I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty Sport 4-Wheel Drive with the specifications listed below. I’d like to know how I determine what transfer case number I actually have (four are listed from research but only two would apply). I also need to know the correct correct gear oil required for ‘normal’ driving use for both front and rear axles. The owner’s manual indicates using a conventional, non-synthetic gear oil but I find differing info online, so I’m totally confused. I want to do the correct fluid change and not have issues down the road.

Thank-you in advance for any information!

Download the full owners manual from the Jeep website - its a pdf. Its more comprehensive than the thin manual that comes with the car.

Thank-you; I have that and I find no information that clarifies my questions, such as which transfer case my Liberty has.
