I did all the maintenance on my Liberty for the 60,000 mi. mark. Was wondering if I should change the front and rear differential fluids, and transfer case fluid. I have heard of some people doing this, I would like some more opinions. Should I use the recomended lubes and such listed in the manual if I do change them, any recomendations on other lubes. Thanks in advance for the help

At 60K I did all the belly reservoirs. For my diffs I used Mobil 1 full synthetic. Used the viscosities in the owner's manual and it seemed just fine. Transfer case takes ATF +4. Can't remember capacities but it's all in the manual.

Yes. The manual recommends 12K intervals for the diffs and 60K for the t-case. I recommend 30K interval for the t-case.

Tcase every 30k, Diffs every 15k, ****** every 30k or 60k depending on how you use it(OM calls for 60k on B), 30k for spark plugs, 60k for belt and antifreeze+stat. I also like to change out the power steering fluid every 30k.

I think 15k for the diffs is a bit much if you dont tow or offroad.

In the owners manual it has the recomended lube, and how to drain and refill the transfer case. But how much lube goes in the front and rear differentials. I can't find that in the manual. Thanks

The rear diff takes just over 2 quarts. I like to have 3 quarts on hand just incase. 2 should do the front and you can use whats left over from the rear to top it off if its needed. If youre not tight on money just get 6 quarts to be safe. If you spill some and had just enough your SOL.

Thanks for the info. Now I have to check and see if I have the trac-lok rear end, I believe I do, then I have to add the friction modifier, I was told most synthetic lubes already have this. Thanks again

I just read over on Lost(tjkj) that you can get it all changed with just 4 quarts. I read awhile back that the rear diff takes just over 2 quarts so that wouldnt leave much room for error filling the front and rear diffs up.

Ive changed them many times but I buy in bulk(5 gallon buckets) so Im just going by what Ive read.
