So this is my first post, I'm trying to get some help.

The problem was my ac would only blow out the top and floorboard vents with power. It will blow out the front but very weakly. So after some google get someone mentioned that the motor was blown on the doors.

Well after playing with the switch which changes direction of airflow I could here a popping noise whenever I switched it to blow to the front.

I don't know much about cars so everywhere I read said you had to pull the dash out to do any ac repairs and after asking my local jeep dealer round about what I would be looking g at after description in the problem he said about $1000 because of having to pull the dash.

Needless to say I am cheap and didn't wanna do that. So this morning I poked my head around and on the drivers side, while laying in the floorboard I spotted the motor (kinda weird angle but accessible) turned the air flow switch and watched it move and after some guess work figured out how it works. Well the white handle that is supposed to be pushed forward to get front vent flow looks to be missing a piece so when put in that position it isn't catching on anything therefore not changing airflow.

So I reached up and pushed it forward myself and bam, ac blows out the front. My question is can I replace the piece that is missing or should I buy a whole new little motor kit? Or can I jest fit it with a rubber gasket of some sort so the pressure is applied? I don't want to break anything on accident and completely mess up my ac. Georgia heat is no fun.

In the pic the white handle is missing a piece at the end from the looks of things. Anyone have a picture of a working one so I know what I should be looking for or any ideas?

Broken blend door mechanism

It sounds like to me, the plastic blend door mechanism is broken on your Jeep.
I had a similar problem, and the motor was replaced. It worked fine for about a month, And now it seems like the blend doors are sticking :Frustrated: All I know is that you have to take most of the dashboard apart, to fix it. Look on YouTube, there are videos about this for a Grand Cherokee. It's a very similar, if the the same setup.

If you can push it forward, what about a zip-tie/rubber band, etc temporary fix till winter then let er blow on windshield and floor.

I had this exact same issue. I was able to push the pin on the white lever back into its track, but this is still a temporary fix because it will pop out any time you turn off the unit or try to move the blend door too much. Being cheap as well, I did a free "fix" and pushed the door into the orientation I wanted, then sunk some screws into the gear to stick it in place. This makes the air come out of the front all the time. Now when I need to defrost, I just close the front vents and it blows through the top enough to work. Pretty rough, but simple.

Haha! Just defog really. Before I fixed it, it was a choice between having the windows open while raining or being cool but not being able to see out the windshield.

I did experience frost on the big island once...
