Is it something that needs to be done by a professional? I know changing gearing pretty much does but don't know what all goes into installing a locker or limited slip. I'm guessing it all has to come apart making it a job for a pro but I've known people that have done them themselves.

Not a job I'm planning to do soon, but thinking about it.

What brand of locker? I want an ARB air locker but would not attempt that on my own. but that's just me.:icon_razz:

Lunchbox lockers like the Powertrax No-Slip, etc. don't require anything more than basic hand tools - no gear setup required since just the spider gears are replaced. Lockers like an ARB, Detroit TruTrac and the like require the ring and pinion to be setup for backlash, pattern and the rest and that job is to be left to the pros who do it for a living. Unless you're an SAE mechanic I wouldn't recommend attempting that job.

Not gonna get into the merits of the lunchbox vs selectable or automatic lockers the the TT but each has their place IMO.
