My 2002 radio seems to have gotten voodoo in it. All eeeee on read out and then it turns itself on and off whenever it wants. I want to replace it with a new radio with either a single CD changer or a radio and 6-unit changer.

Few questions
1. Where can I get best deal on new factory type unit?
2. Will my present wiring harness for a AM/FM/Cassette work a CD player and 6-unit changer?
3. Will a later model year radio fit seamlessly into the same space and work with the present harness?

Well, somebody is going to say it...
Check out Crutchfield

If you order a stereo from them, you usually get all the stuff (wiring harness, instructions, etc.) for free.

Most aftermarket stereos are better and cheaper than the factory anyway, and are CD-Changer, Aux In, iPod, and Sat ready.

yeah, factory head units are overly over priced...ebay may be the cheapest you can find factory HU's, but even then, a 100 dollar unit from an aftermarket would be way better than anything factory...

if it's broken, might as well upgrade....to a better HU
crutchfield will supply the wiring harness and bezel adapter to make it work/fit.
ilove them myself...

to answer ur questions
1) ebay
2) yes
3) i dont think jeep has changed the head units on the KJ's, so 02-06 should all work w/o any modification whatsover to the harness's and trim pieces or what not...

I would double that on crutchfield bet.. They will stay on the phone if you get yourself into trouble until you fix it. They will also pay for return shipping if you end up not being able to fit it or unable to install correctly. They will include gap fillers, cables, all sorts of stuff..

Good Luck and get one with Mp3 player, fill your CDs with mp3s and drive away in a joy of music.

** If I didn't have the in-dash 6 CD Changer, by now I would have changed my unit after a year or so.. I surely wish I had gotten the single CD player with changer controls so I could install external 10-disk mp3 changer.. Only if I knew these DC 6cd changers did not come with aux or with NO way whatsoever to expand usability.. NO AUX = NO Good..

Good Luck, and let us know what you end up getting and how it fits.`
