Was wondering if those AUX inputs in the front of CD players take a standard head phone plug?? Weve got a Direct TV receiver and Direct TV offers XM. I was hoping to get a cable that goes from the Audio Outputs on the Direct TV Receiver to the AUX Input on the head unit. Its a sony but I cant remember the model. Heres an example of what I mean:

Yes they will, but I don't understand how will you get XM off DirecTV to your car stereo?
Do they offer subscription regardless of where you are with any XM recevier, or are you limited to XM on your Sat Receiver at home?

Direct TV has a contract with the sat radio people. I dunno what kind of cable you have, but I have music channels on my AT&T, I even had them with my Comcast. The sat channels on the direct tv was a selling point for me when I was considering a dish but then I found out I wouldn't get one of the main channels I have XM for. So I went to AT&T and upgraded my XM radio. I believe there is no additional charge for the sat service. Maybe he is going to mount the dish on his ride so he can get the Direct TV wherever he goes. Big Rig trucker style.

haha, I knew you would ask what was up hyedipin. Its on a boat that has sat TV through Direct TV and yes, we get all the XM channels for free. Wanted to hook it up to the CD player so we would have free XM on the boat. :)

Thanks everyone. Ill let you know if it worked after this weekend. Didnt want to buy the cable(10ft+) and it not work.

It works. Took a lot of looking at walmart since the cable to go from RCA to the head phone jack was only 6ft long(needed at least 10ft) so I had to find the head phone extension cable. I love how walmart puts stuff all over the store when they should be in the same isle.

Either way, for a $8 cable we now have free XM.. :)
