ok so I have a 04 liberty 3.7 2wd my wife accidentally put power steering fluid in the master cylinder so she got a turkey baster and removed it but not before she had to drive it to buy one long story short the front brakes locked up on me so I had to replace the brake hoses on the front and went ahead and replaced brake pads since I was there good for 2 days then same story they locked up on me got it home and replaced both front calipers and also flushed all the brake fluid it is completely new fluid but the brakes in the front is still locking up after it's been driven for a while it feels like the pedal just keeps building the more you use it getting harder and harder but if you let it set for a little while its all back to normal does this sound like the seals are messed up in the master cylinder and not letting the fluid back to this reservoir is there some place I could get just the kit to rebuild the master cylinder? money is very tight at the moment my iob has cut my hours so i'm trying to fix it but have little money could I go to a salvage yard and get one as long ass I make sure it has fluid in it until I can get the money for a new one which is like 100 anyway thanks for the info

ps fluid is on the edge of being impossible to completly remove from a brake system without removing every rubber part in the system, if the brake fluid wasnt completely flushed when the new lines / calipers were put on, and there was still contaminant in the master then they may be recontaminated

it could be a variety of things causing the issue to reoccur, sadly the moment the brakes were depressed contaminant was distributed throughout the system to one degree or another under hydrollic pressure, and the front brakes locking up may not be the last symptom it gives you

send metalmoto a pm and see if you guys stuff is compatible, hes parting out a blown motor liberty

keep in mind, the ebrake our our vehicle is a parking assist and is not really designed to bring the vehicle to a stop even on a good day

if it helps at all, this kinda thing happens more than youd think
